Delicious. Food made with love served by funny, kind people. The people who wrote a bad review probably came on a bad night or never worked in a busy restaurant before. This place is AMAZING. We came during the summertime and sat on the patio. I ordered the same thing I always do when our waiter (who knows what good food is all about) suggested a different combination. Curious, I agreed and we got some samosas and garlic naan to match it.

Every dish was 5 stars. From the samosas to the lentils, aloo gobi and rice. They had flavor, texture, and spice that was spot on. The waitress made sure our glasses were never empty and our other waiter was the coolest guy you will ever meet. We had ras malai at the end (PSA: if you haven't tried it yet, you're seriously missing out. It is amazing.

In short, this place makes you feel happy, welcome, and leaves you with a full stomach for great prices. Overall five stars....

During my visit this evening (take out order placed) I asked for a second plastic bag before heading out in order to keep my food warm and the following exchange occurred with the waiter/bar tender:

Me: May I have another bag, please? Staff member: A bag? What do you need a bag for?! You already have one! Me: ...... Me: So, I can't get a bag? Staff member: You have one. We are very busy right now. You have this thing (walks past me and grabs existing plastic bag aggressively/demonstratatively). Gets second plastic bag from kitchen and throws it in the direction of my food. Me: May I speak with a manager? Staff Member: ....Um. There is no manager on duty right now.

Regardless of how busy the restaurant is or isn't that is never the way to speak to a customer. This will be my last visit to that...

While exploring DC and craving Indian food, we ended up at Rajaji—and it was honestly the perfect choice. We ordered Dal Makhani, Murg Chicken (which came with rice), Raita, Naan, and Roti. Every single dish was flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection.

What made the experience even better was the amazing service. A kind gentleman from Nepal took care of us with genuine hospitality and a warm smile. He even took the time to chat with us, making the whole experience feel more like a family dinner than just a restaurant visit.

The vibe was calm and welcoming, the place was spotless, and the food came out super quick. As tourists, this visit really stood out. It’s rare to find a spot that nails both the food and the service—10/10, highly recommend if you’re in DC and craving authentic...

I had dinner at Raja Ji Curry House last night and it was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. The food is incredibly authentic — rich flavors, perfectly balanced spices, and cooked with obvious care. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the portions were very generous. This restaurant truly feels like a hidden gem. The lentil soup was comforting and full of flavor, the chicken curry was tender and aromatic, and the garlic naan was warm and fresh from the oven. It’s clear they put pride into every dish. If you’re looking for excellent Indian food, look no further — this place is a must-visit. Whether you’re already a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Raja Ji Curry House delivers on every level. I can’t recommend it enough!

can't give 0 stars but would if I could. I had lunch here at about 2 pm on Dec 9 2022 and left a review on yelp similar to this. I had a big bug in my water and the food was lukewarm, from which I got food poisoning. I hoped the food was warm enough that the germs from the bug wouldn't matter so I took a bite and it was as if it had been microwaved for a few seconds after being left out over night. didnt eat it after that. the chai was also lukewarm. nice ambience but not enough to save the food. I felt bad saying this to the sweet old man that took my order and delivered my food so I ordered a box for it and then took it outside a couple blocks away and threw it away. it was a waste of 20 ish bucks. Eat here at your own peril.
