We walked from our hotel at Dupont Circle all the way to the Hot N Juicy Crawfish restaurant which is across the street from this station. While it was a nice walk over, (DC is a pretty city where we were) it was unfortunately raining after our lunch on the 4th of July, so we headed to this station to catch a ride back to our hotel. Because we had a stroller in tow, we had to utilize the elevator to access the station below. Due to construction, it was a little hunt trying to find the available elevator for use, but once we did, it was a quick ride down. After being enthralled going down the towering escalators of the Dupont Circle Station, I was bummed to read after the fact, that the ones in Woodley Park were even taller, yet we didn't get to experience them due to our elevator ride. Oh well.
The station was fairly clean and kept in design theme with the others we utilized (Metro Center, Dupont, and Gallery Place Chinatown) but the train platform seemed more narrow compared to the rest. Pedestrian flow was easy and not hectic.

Read moreAfter the Cleveland Park stop, the Red Line heads downhill into much deeper rock tunnel. The next station is Woodley Park. Despite it having zoo in the name, it is not the closest stop to the zoo. That distinction falls with Cleveland Park one stop north.
This is the last stop heading south that uses the four coffer arch which has been standard at every stop since Medical Center. There is still the standard island platform.
This station is located in the Woodley Park neighborhood of D.C., however Adams Morgan is also not far away, just a short walk across the Duke Ellington bridge.
This station has the third longest escalators on the system, after Wheaton and Bethesda, and the longest in D.C. itself.
