With so many decadent pastries and pies to choose from, I'm glad I bought the Caramel Apple Pie. It was fresh and baked that morning! Although it was a bit crumbly and loaded with crunchy walnuts, I enjoyed the apple filling. I wasn't a big fan of the Toll House Chocolate Chip cookie. I would skip it and save room for the pie!

Read moreFine Sweet Shoppe is the bakery inside historic Eastern Market on Capitol Hill. They sell cakes, cookies, ice cream, coffee, sandwiches and so many other items. It's easy to get overwhelmed, but here's what I recommend:
Ice cream- it doesn't compare to nearby Jeni's, Captain Cookie or Moorenko's, but for the price and portion, it's perfect for kids. My toddler loves their strawberry ice cream.
Cakes- their chocolate cake is pretty good!
Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies- they are small, but a good snack.
If you can avoid it, don't order their chocolate croissant. Truly, it's the worst I've had...
