My friend and I came to Washington DC for a girls trip to visit her daughter and my son, who is a student there. We loved the apartment from the first second we stepped into as it instantly felt like a home away from home. It is beautiful and well furnished with high ceilings and tall windows. The apartment is immaculate and every detail is attended to, including a coffee pot that makes delicious coffee and quality linens that are so comfortable after a long day of seeing the sites. It is located in a safe neighborhood and is a nice walk to The Eastern Market, independently owned boutiques, restaurants, a CVS and a wine shop. The apartment is so inviting that we decided to cook there one night and it was so convenient that the The Eastern Market is full of lovely fresh vegetables, fresh meats and a bakery. Outside the market were street vendors with quality goods to sell which was so fun to browse. I have found that where you stay can make such a difference in the tone of a vacation and this one certainly did. It was a such a wonderful time and I’m looking so forward to visiting DC with my husband and staying there again.

The customer service was OK but the apartment was not habitable. We stayed in a basement apartment a few blocks from the capitol while on temporary orders for what was supposed to be a few months, but we ended up moving out after only a month. For $6k/month the two bedroom apartment was simply horrendous. We moved in to large spiderwebs, piles of brick dust and dead insects (into a supposedly cleaned apartment) and things just got worse from there. The apartment on a surface level was nice, great fridge, appliances and bathroom. Below the surface, the smell of mold was obvious and we had constant mosquitos, bugs, worms, crickets, and rats. The landlord was initially responsive but got overwhelmed by the situation and stopped responding. The place was sprayed for bugs and the bugs would quickly die (hence the piles of dead insects) but that didn't make me feel good at all about my 7 month old crawling around on pesticide filled carpets.

I stayed here for a month while house hunting. Fabulous, convenient location to everything you need. One of the best parts about the house is the private little courtyard/patio space out front. Stunning in the springtime. Capitol Hill Stay was attentive and extremely communicative the entire time. The neighbors were also so kind and helpful. But I have to say, it was the sincere thoughtfulness of the people who run this hospitality group that exceeded my expectations. Tragically, I lose my pup of 16 year unexpectedly while here (we were grateful to enjoy many days of gorgeous weather on that patio together). Upon check out and kind conversation with Phil, one of the staff members, the team let me know they had made a donation to a rescue organization in my pup’s honor. It brought me to tears. Stay with them if you can- I don’t think you’ll regret it.

I have very much enjoyed my stay here! I rented this apartment for three years for a number of reasons.

The location is unbelievable, especially if you are have work on or near the Hill, or want to do your sightseeing on the National Mall. If you walk out the front door of the building you are looking directly at the rear of the Supreme Court building. It is a few minutes walk to either the Capital South metro stop or Union Station. The Capitol, the National Mall, the Supreme Court, and the Library of Congress are just as near. Eastern Market and the wonderful restaurants of Barracks Row are about 7 or 8 blocks away - roughly a 15 minute walk.

This rental has been especially great for a young single woman like me - this building is in one of the safest, cleanest neighborhoods in the District. There is a Capitol Police guard station directly across the street and on the north and south corners of the block. I have never once felt unsafe walking alone late at night in this area.

The apartment has high ceilings and plenty of natural light from three large windows. It is nicely furnished with a large television, fast internet, a ceiling fan, and all major appliances, including a combined washer/dryer, fridge, dishwasher, and oven. The floors are hardwood with an area rug, and a tiled area in the kitchenette and in the bathroom. The water pressure is excellent and the taps can be turned to scalding hot if you like. There is ample storage space for a unit of this size - there are three closets, one dresser, and a TV stand/cabinet.

The building itself is quiet and the hallways stay clean. The other renters tend to be friendly. It is an older building to be sure, but it has been well taken care of and modernized. If you rent a room on the east side of the building your view will be of an alleyway, but you will hear virtually no noise from traffic and other noise pollution typical of the city - very quiet!

Most importantly, the owner is very responsive and accommodating. Any time there has been a maintenance issue it has been resolved either the same day, usually within a few hours, or the very next day. I have enjoyed...

My family and I stayed in the 623 A Street NE location while running from Hurricane Florence. We wanted to make a mini-vacation out of the evacuation and desired to be within walking distance to the National Mall and all that it has to offer for tourism. We found this place and quickly requested a booking. The owner accommodated our last-minute request despite having his own extended family needing housing during the Hurricane.

We were beyond pleased with the quaint, clean, and perfectly appointed condo. The condo provided everything we needed; we just needed to buy groceries. The master bed has a ton of very comfy pillows. The shower has excellent pressure and plenty of hot water. The kitchen is updated with brand new appliances and a huge fridge. The courtyard is secure and provides a great place for kids to play, or to enjoy an evening cocktail. The Eastern Market (and associated Metro stop) is just a couple blocks away, so is Trader Joe's, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The building is quiet - we occasionally heard the upstairs condo occupant walking, but nothing that would distract or wake anyone. Parking is available upon request and our request was accommodated. Free DirecTV is available on the large flat screen. And there is a washer/dryer combo in the 1/2 bath.

The online pictures and description of this property are precisely accurate - we were very pleased that we were not disappointed when we walked in the door; it was exactly as portrayed online, perhaps even nicer than expected. We have stayed at other furnished vacation rentals and have been quite disappointed when we arrived. Moreover, the communication we received from the owner and his assistant were excellent - very prompt and personal.

My family and I are planning another DC mini-vaca in the future and I plan to book this...

Location, Location, Location! The Capital Hill carriage house was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with my partner. It is located just a short walk from Congress and the national mall, with a convenience store and a DC bikeshare just two blocks away. The actual house is an adorable converted carriage house that was well-stocked with extras like an AC, washer and dryer, dishwasher, and extra fans - which were much appreciated in the hot and humid weather. We accessed the home using a code, so it was great to not have to worry about taking a key with us. The Internet was fast and easy to use, and a welcome guide was placed at the entry welcoming us. Downstairs was a living room/kitchen combo with an adorable small backyard where we had our morning coffee. The kitchen had a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and of course plenty of silverware and dishes for our use. The washer and dryer was right next to the kitchen and was great for cleaning up our clothes before we left. In the living room was a small, comfortable couch and smart TV. The TV had Netflix and Amazon prime, along with youtube TV, so we had plenty of entertainment options. There was also a small dining table next to the washer and dryer for us to use. Upstairs we were greeted with a clean, bright bathroom - with soap, shampoo, and toothpaste ready for our use. There was a large desk at the top of the stairs that was great for us to use as a Valet for our luggage, but it would also make a great laptop workstation. The bed was big and comfy, with USB charging ports and extra plugs on the night stands. We greatly appreciated this home, and would recommend it to any couple who want to visit the DC area - especially tourists wanting to see The National Mall, Whitehouse, or the Museums. We will 100% be reserving this property on...
