We have been attending CHPC since 2007 and been members since 2008. My husband, son and I love the multi-generational community and how involved we can be in many aspects of the church. Along with an excellent pastor/church service on Sunday mornings we are active with service projects/mission trips, hosting coffee hour and serving as greeters, singing in the choir, and participating in Sunday School. Rather than treating her with Christian love and attempting to accommodate her needs for transportation and utilize her vast historical knowledge and involvement in the history of this church over half a century, they seem to be doing away with every program or responsibility she's ever been involved with. I grew up going to a very traditional Presbyterian Church in Charleston—and it sometimes felt unapproachable in its grandeur and slight pomp. CHPC is the perfect balance of retaining the beautiful traditional hymns, words, and rituals, while making everyone feel welcomed with sermons that speak to today's world and an ambiance that drips with warmth.
