Jack's Famous Deli — Restaurant in Washington

I ordered 6 wings fried hard with french fries on December 19. After i got back to my office ready to eat and all i noticed that there was so much salt on my wings. I didn’t enjoy the wings because it was way too much obey on the chicken. This is not the first this has happened. I called up to Jacks restaurant and told them that this is the second time i’ve ordered wings from here and you guys put to much salt on the chicken wings. Before i could get some names of the people who was working in the kitchen that day; they hurry up and told me will give you a discount when you come back. Today i went to jacks and trying to explain to them about what happened on December the 19th and they were trying to blow me off and told me “you didn’t get that chicken from here. After going back and forth for about 5min i showed them a picture of the wings i bought from them on 12/19/24 and after that they finally agreed to give me a discount on my lunch for today. Also i ordered the wings and fries today; this time they forgot to give me my fries. So i say all this to say don’t spend your money with these folks!! There are other places in the city that will give you good customer service and give you what you paid for without trying to give you high blood pressure!! Very Disappointed in Jacks and i spend a lot money there. No More...

Update April 2024 (4 stars) hot pastrami on rye, chips, and bottled drink ran $16 bucks, including tax. Nothing special to behold at this place, but, it was a solid deli lunch at a premium location near the National Mall. I will be giving this place another chance.

I’ll comment that the salad bar / hot food bar was totally empty and not in use during my weekday lunch hour timeframe visit. They might as well demolish that bar to make room for more seating, and focus on what seems to be their core competency: slinging decent sandwiches off the grill.

Prior review (3 stars) $24 (no beverage nor tip) Jack’s take out lunch: corned beef on rye sammich & a small plate of Chinese food. A beverage would run additional. You’re more paying for the location overhead (Penn Quarter & Judiciary Square) than the rather unremarkable quality...

Incredibly rude and racist woman at the register. I came to pay first like the sign says and she brushed me off and to me to go order. I ordered and got my drink from the self service drink dispenser. When i asked for a straw while I waited like the white gentleman did before me, she loudly and rudely demanded I paid. I never felt so disrespected in my life. I pulled out my card to pay just so she could see my Amex and told her she was rude and she can keep her drink and straw. I imagine they deal with difficult customers due to being close to the court house but that’s no excuse to treat people that way. I do not recommend investing in a place that is so...
