*******EDITED******** LET ME ADDRESS THE GM CALLING THIS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT, AS THIS WAS NOT. If you scroll through the comments (I wish I would’ve looked before booking) you will see that a guest 3/4 months ago had the SAME ISSUE! He actually caught a mouse in his room with a bag and was told to leave the bag OUTSIDE HIS ROOM DOOR! So to respond about my “ISOLATED ISSUE” is WRONG! And I have yet to hear from anyone about my “isolated issue” and it’s been since Tuesday!….I was in town from Virginia for the Cowboy Carter concert and booked this hotel when the tour was first announced. I was booked under the family explore rate because I have a family member that works for Marriott. On arrival the front desk lady (Kendra) was very pleasant.. her customer service was on 1000. I arrived early around 9:45am and was intending to drop my bag and go get breakfast until my room was ready. But Kendra offered me breakfast in the lobby there while I wait. SUPER PLUS for me. Fast forward to my room being ready. I go to my room and all seems well, I even called Kendra and thanked her for the corner room with all the windows and nice view. Everything was going great until it was bedtime. I was in bed relaxing and watching tv and out comes a MOUSE from under the bed!! I freaked out, jumped up and called the front desk on my way down to them. The lady that was there I can’t remember her name, was absolutely NOTHING like Kendra when it came to customer service.. she pretty much shoves another set of keys in my hand because she had a guest in front of her that she didn’t want to hear my dilemma. I wasn’t going to broadcast it though. I went up to the new room and noticed the fridge and microwave wasn’t there. I went back downstairs and asked her about it and she told me all rooms don’t have them so I informed her that I requested it prior to coming and was told I could. She then hastily repeated herself that there was none available. Until I told her my spouse worked for Marriott then all of sudden there was a room with a fridge and microwave. Smh. So I asked her can I speak to a manager so I can at least get compensated because with a big concert going on the rooms around was all booked. She states I am the manager, and that because of the “rate” I was under it wasn’t much to be done. And she also told me because the hotel is in the city mice is common!!! I was floored!! Sadly I had to stay because again the surrounding area rooms were booked because of the concert. I had to literally sleep with one eye open even when the mouse trap was placed in my room just in case it happened again in the new room I was switched to. The next morning the GM Ebony informed her staff to tell me that the only things she was WILLING to do was offer me to check out and not charge me for the second day because again the rate I was already under. I really don’t care if I paid 2 dollars for the room. I was uncomfortable as heck because the hotel had mice! And I feel like I should’ve been comped for my room because I didn’t get to rest and relax while in the room. So PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY!!! The pic is of the mouse trap that maintenance came and put down in my room.

Pros - - Hotel is at a good location - Accessible via walking to various places as its located in China town - Room is good amount of size (Depending on how many people you plan to stay in a room. Best for 2 people, fair with 2 adults, with 1 or 2 Toddlers) - Most staff is good (except couple employees with attitude) Cons - - Room bathroom doesn’t have any exhaust. Smells like sewage at night when you are not using it - Room AC/heat is wall AC. Turning on Heat smells like a fire like it never ever turned on (thats odd in the winter time, as we stated in winter and wondering that no one turned on ever??) - Room walls are paper thin, hear everything from next door. When my kids are inside talking with door closed, everything is audible when I was coming from the elevator. - Breakfast is good however no full breakfast. They have broken appliances for Waffle and stuff, was told by one of the person staying in hotel for a week that its broken for almost a week and not even fixed/replaced. Thats odd so be ready for not having your favorite/hot breakfast - Valet parking is $52, taxes not included, was not told in advance. Be ready to pay $61 including tax. - On the checkout day, they keep knocking every 5 minutes even if told that what time are we checking out. Thats very bad strategy to irritate customers to kick them out basically even if the check out is hours away. - Bathroom ceiling started leaking and smelled bad assuming its a toilet from the room above. Staff didn’t care about it neither any apology.

Ultimately for the price of this hotel (I ended up paying $272 for only one night after valet (extra $52)), the quality was not good, especially for a Marriot.

Rooms: The rooms were definitely outdated and just felt old and dingy. It was motel vibes in all honesty, which I would have been totally fine with it I didn't end up paying $272 for a singular night (on a Monday at that). There wasn't trash liners in the trash cans, instead of hand soap there was body wash (which I thought was funny at first but then everything else started to pile up), they provided only two towels (no hand towels just full 2 sized towels) so we had to use one for the floor when showering and share the other one + use that one as a hand towel. I've just never have been to a hotel were there was only two towels in a bathroom, I'm sure I could've asked for more but also for $272 like add a hand towel guys. Floor looked dirty and scuffed up, like it needed a good brush. Room was also small with a tiny desk that could've sat only one person but it was the only counter space to unpack our stuff because the room was so small, so I went downstairs to eat dinner in the lobby but then was told it was closed (which I understand but then there needs to be more table space in rooms to eat). Was just not worth the price at all if I knew the rooms would be that quality I would have found another hotel and walked or parked in the garage down the street that was cheaper than their valet service

Service: The front desk staff was nice so I want them to know that they are doing a good job and this section isn't directed at them, but the Valet people were honestly rude. Like, the moment we pulled up they just had an attitude, which I can get to an extent (I work in customer service and sometimes we have those days), but the next day they also were rude and it was different dudes so im thinking it's just the valet people's general vibe (a vibe I paid $52 for). I'd rather just park my car for $50 overnight in the parking garage down the street and drive/walk to a further hotel that has nicer staff and accommodations, and id recommend that too for anybody considering this hotel because of the location.

Breakfast: It was meh. Same exact stuff as a motel. Not a lot of options either. Mini yogurt bar was a cool touch though I appreciated that. Only hot foods were sausage, egg patties, quiches (which were gross ngl) waffles and oatmeal. So not bad, but definitely not Marriot quality

Location: Location is great, I booked this hotel for the capital one arena and it's literally a minute walk away so if you want the closest acccomation to the arena it's right around the corner. It's also in Chinatown, and there's a couple food places open until 3am. Not a safe walk at night, which is obviously not the hotel's fault but something to consider if you wanted that vibe

Overall disappointed. Motel experience for $272 per night. If you want quality go somewhere else, if you want location I still recommend going somewhere else and just pay...

Marriott hotel 6hr Drive to be greatly disappointed. Marriott is known to have wonderful service, greats vibes, etc I always go to a Marriott hotel and this was the worst one I ever had this location was the absolute opposite… Hospitality was absolutely disgusting. We walked in going to Front Desk to get checked in. First red flag we were NOT welcomed. The guy (didn’t get to get his name) he was absolutely rude. Didn’t greet or say good morning or welcome he didn’t say absolutely anything until my father told him something and then that’s when he felt embarrassed and said good morning. The valet people was even WORST. We asked the guy to explain himself how valet works again because we didn’t really understand and he told us “ I already told you guys and I’m not repeating myself again” and walked away. Then he had no other option but to help us out because there was nobody else and through the process it was just attitude after attitude. When it comes to cleaning, we stayed there for 2 days. We noticed when we went out and came back our room was not cleaned and towels was not changed. Nothing was done. We called to find out what’s going on because every hotel I been to does not matter if you stay for 1 day they still clean your room. The women told us service is after 3+ nights of staying. Which it was not mentioned at all to US and their website. We asked for towels at least to be changed. And they gave us 2 when they know it’s 4 people staying. The garbed was not cleaned or anything after being promised they were. Also the AC was not working it felt like we was in a sauna. Back to the valet, we requested our car so they could bring it to us, we waited 20 min for them to take it out. Whole time they didn’t bring it out bc they thought we needed our luggage… like huh ? They specifically send us a link for the car ONLY to request it. After waiting for 20 min and asking what’s going on and the confusion we got out car. Then later on we left the wallet in the car by mistake and told the women in the front desk to call the guy back and he came with such a nasty attitude. Didn’t even look at our face or anything. Didn’t even talk to us or anything. Didn’t say anything absolute word. He just pointed at the car and kept it pushing. My father asked if he was okay and the guy said you got your wallet now leave. This whole experience was HORRIBLE !!!!!! We did not use names to prevent personal attacks. This is just addressing the service that needs to be changed. Because the service SUCKS. Their excuses for this experience was that day had a concert going on the day before we got checked in … If you can’t give good customer service why work in such an environment where you dealing with people. FYI: people who changes the garbage please wear gloves especially when cleaning the table after taking out the garbage. Breakfast, checking in area, lobby. Way too small for the amount of people...
