A couple of months ago, and after many times coming to this establishment, I successfully celebrated my husband’s birthday party here with over 45 people. We understand how much federal law enforcement presence have affected small businesses sales, particularly the food and beverage industry. I decided to have friends join me in different stops from the Metropolitan Beer Trail during my birthday to provide some extra business to these breweries that I love so much.
A little after 10pm last night we arrived to Lost Generation. Interesting a group of very well dressed Latinos approached my group (my husband and 3 girlfriends as at that point most people have left) to ask for another bar or brewery as it seemed they had some issue inside. We went in and I stayed in the table as it was my birthday. My husband (who has a more middle eastern look)was served as well as my white friend (who she actually sold two drinks for hers!). When my two Latina friends came out of the bathroom and started dancing the bartender told them that they could not be served because they were intoxicated. This was absolutely not true. Specially one of the have just arrived to the previous location and I know for fact that she has had only one drink. This was just profiling. They were only dancing. No yelling and no inappropriate behavior.
When one of my friends retuned to the table, she proceed to complete a Google review (which in fact is below, Lost Generation replied to and offered to talk over email to her but they actually have her blocked so she can’t see it so this is basically for show.) A couple of minutes later a tall, long haired, blond guy with glasses came to our table, interrupted our conversation and approached her about the review, pretty much harassing her for leaving a bad review. He indicates I. His response that my friend yelled at him. This is such an incorrect description of the story. She was just firm in the fact that she was not intoxicated, that she was just happy and dancing and that the bartender was rude to her.
This whole situation would have been such an embarrassment have the place been full. Thankfully this was not the case. And this is my whole point. In times when people are not going out, I decided to use my day to provide some business to local establishments. In fact, I wrote in the Evite that I didn’t want gifts but for people to eat, drink and tip well. How sad that after my group was welcome very warmly by all other places we ended (almost because we moved to Nice and Easy which were amazing!) with such a bad not. Now we also understand the group with the Latino guys left. Wondering if this profiling is trying to get rid of Latino customers to avoid any unwanted law...

Read moreEdited to add after response from brewery: Thanks for your quick response. I had a feeling your response was that we were all intoxicated. Although there were a few people who had more to drink than others, that was not the majority of the group. The bartender saw we had come in from the wedding next door and atomically judged that she wasn't going to give us anything to drink. I completely understand not serving those who were drunk, but that was not the case for the majority of the group. I think she was tired and ready to go home and wasn't looking to serve 20+ people at 11pm. Please don't make it seem/pass blame that our entire group was intoxicated, when that truly wasn't the case.
**original review Our group of us popped over to this brewery after a wedding (which ended at 11) that was next door. The brewery was closing at 12. When we walked in, the bartender was extremely rude and said “I don’t want to serve any of you.” When asking her why, she said because “I don’t want to”. It was pretty evident she was ready to close down the bar so she could leave, which is unfortunate, given that closing time was listed at 12am. You lost out on quite a bit of sales because of this. I was looking forward to trying a beer here, but I was never given the chance. The group of us (15+ people) will not be coming back in the future due to the bartender’s unwelcoming behavior. I would also suggest to this business that if 12 is too late for your staff to handle, consider closing earlier.
I usually enjoy going to local breweries because everyone is typically kind & welcoming, but Lost Generation does not posses these qualities- Would skip this place and check out another...
