I went with my husband on our weekly outings and we were both craving some Mexican food. As we walked in we were greeted by smiling faces. We sat at a table with some beautiful decor of a blue parrot on the beach. Margaritaville was playing from the jukebox so we both ordered their watermelon margarita, it was spot on. The steak, chicken and shrimp were made to perfection in their tierra y mar dish. I was so full I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish it. So why not five star? Their food was great, the ambiance fitting and even their customer service made us feel welcome and cared for, which are the three main things I look for when going out. However, when it came time for the bill and I went up to pay things got a little weird. Our meals total was $60.94. I had $30 cash on hand and $60 on my bank card. So I hand the (I assume) manager my card, let him know how much was on there and asked for him to just go ahead and zero it out (since that's the card I use for our dates anyway and zero out every week), and handed him a $10 bill to cover the $0.94 left over. This would mean I would get back $9.06. I had planned in my head to use the cash at hand (the 9 I would receive back and the $20 bill from my 30) to leave them a 20% tip ($12 something) which brought the bill up to $73. The manager hands me my receipt which read $50.94, and didn't hand back any change. This confused the heck out of me because I was of course expecting it to read $60. He took the ten dollar bill to pay for the remaining bill. Then the waitress who had come up tacked on my 20% tip (the $12 from the original $60.94 bill) onto the new total of $50.94, giving herself in reality only a two dollar tip. I asked them, to reassure myself from the mathematical confusion, if the whole bill had been covered, they agreed it had so I just thanked them and...
Read moreDecent food but horrible service! In addition to my party of 2, there was another table with 2 people, & a larger table with 6 people in the entire restaurant. After our food was dropped off, no one came to check on us until we had been done eating for 5 minutes & our waters had been empty for close to 20 minutes. While the servers were standing to the side just talking to each other. When we were finally paying at the front counter, I was really debating how much of a tip to leave. The server is standing there watching me & says, “tick tock, it’s easy peasy”. I told him that the service wasn’t good at all. His response to me, in a customer service capacity, was “well, we’re busy on this side” (the side of the restaurant that only had the table of 6). I told him it’s only 6 people over here & a total of 4 people on the other side. His response was “we had to go orders too. Sorry”. I was extremely irritated that not only did we not receive service, but when it was brought to the gentleman’s attention, he didn’t immediately apologize; he had excuses. That is not how you treat customers when you’re in a customer service job. I was highly disappointed with the service here. There are plenty of other Mexican Restaurants in the area that I would recommend as opposed...
Read moreThere was not any one to seat me, or show me to my table. If I didn't see my party I wouldn't have known if they were there or where they happened to be sitting at. They charged my card 3 times and I have yet to get my money back from them and it's been almost a week. I wanted a glass of wine and I ordered some champagne instead I think but I didn't get a chance to drink it because there was lipstick stains on every single glass the third time I told him it must not have been meant for me to have wine that day. My son had the chicken strips and french fries he said that they were good. My daughter had the enchilada with the taco she said she didn't really like it so she ended up just eating chips and salsa so that was a waste of my money. I got the chimichanga meal the meat was very dry and the outside was very tough it was not crispy. I can't explain it but it was really tough and hard to get through so I had to cut it with a knife instead of me just using a fork like I normally would do I only ate my rice and beans off that plate.
Update. My money was refunded after a week a few phone calls...
