We came here on a Sat evening and most of the establishment was nearly full. We had to wait for a bit for them to accommodate us. They said 30 min but made room and got us in a little sooner. First and foremost, the servers that brought us our food were absolutely wonderful and my party appreciated them.

The food was a little hit and miss: The Sushi had rock hard unripe avocado in it, which was not good and was a turn off for the sushi. However I will say, we brought it to their attention and they understood and accommodated the mishap. However once the sushi was properly done, it was really good. I would recommend it.

The tempura was good and the gyoza and egg rolls (the rolls were more spring roll like) were not bad overall.

Many of the Donburi (bowls) werent bad. Good portions and having made it before, the price was, in our opinion, a little high.

The bento box overall was pretty good. Sashimi was tasty, the tempura, and beef teriyaki was good, and the good contrasting elements like the cucumber salad, salad, and orange made a wonderful match. Good presentation on it too.

Our biggest gripe, apart from the sushi mishap and some of the non-sushi foods, was the wait. I feel they were really understaffed for how many people were there. Our entire order came out 1-2 people at a time and over the coarse of 2 hours... which we didnt expect to spend that much time there. Was frustrating... again the communication and service was wonderful considering.

Recommendation? I dont think we will be back HOWEVER I would say give them a chance as the sushi was...

During our week-long trip to Seattle and Tacoma, this restaurant is, without a doubt, the best one we visited (already dreaming about coming back just for the food)! From the start, the service was spectacular. The prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering how delicious the food is and how generous the portions are. The vegetable tempura roll was crispy, slightly warm, and delectable! It had a perfect blend of vegetables that didn't feel heavy but perfectly filling. Looks are deceiving because the chicken yakisoba felt quite large while eating compared to the portion you seem to be getting - and it arrived sizzling in the hot plate! I couldn't get it into my gullet fast enough! Having the Vietnamese coffee was the perfect choice to cut through the oil, with it being slightly bitter but still sweet and strong. The chicken katsu sashimi bento is the best bang for your buck if you want to have a little bit of everything! The additional 3 piece sashimi is a great way to try some raw fish. The dressing on the sunomono is so refreshing, almost vinegary yet citrusy, which makes it a great palate cleanser in between bites of the sashimi and chicken katsu. On top of it all, the overall bento is aesthetically pleasing - 10/10 for presentation! Also recommend trying their maki rolls (you can opt to have them make it as a hand roll if you prefer). In conclusion, give this place a visit whenever you can! You...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kamei, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the inviting atmosphere swept us into a world of Japanese culinary excellence.

The sushi at Kamei is truly remarkable; each piece was a work of art, bursting with freshness and flavor. Every bite was a testament to the chef’s skill and dedication to perfection. The variety of options ensured there was something for everyone, and each dish exceeded our expectations.

Beyond the incredible food, what truly set Kamei apart was their exceptional customer service. The servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel truly valued as guests.

The ambiance of the restaurant was vibrant and lively, creating the perfect backdrop for an evening of culinary delight. Whether you’re dining with friends, family, or a special someone, Kamei offers an atmosphere that is both fun and inviting.

In summary, our experience at Kamei was nothing short of extraordinary. The sushi was amazing, the customer service was exceptional, and the overall dining experience was out of this world. We’re already counting down the days until we can return for another unforgettable meal. Thank you, Kamei, for an evening we’ll...

I went for my Sunday dinner, I was craving Japanese food, not necessarily sushi. I was planning on ordering something else until I saw their September Special Menu with katsu curry. I ordered the katsu curry, it came with miso soup. I also wanted Thai Tea and asked if they could make it dairy free. Lucky for me they had coconut cream instead of dairy cream, I was delicious! The miso soup was a little saltier than I’m used to. When I got my curry, I was surprised that it wasn’t the same color, and it was less thick than usual Japanese curry. I looked at the special menu and it did say Japanese Curry. The waitress stated they add a Vietnamese flair to all of their dishes. The curry was tasty, I enjoyed this new twist of flavor. I will have to come again this month to get the curry again, it’s the perfect season, Autumn, for curry. I’ll also have to try their sushi later. My meal was filling and definitely worth the price.

Oh my goodness - I’m so glad I found this place! I had driven by it a few times in the past year and kept forgetting to go check it out. Today, while looking for a place to eat with my husband I remembered and we went around 12 PM. I love the atmosphere - It doesn’t have that cold/clinical feeling like a lot of restaurants that open in the area. It felt unexpectedly relaxing. When the food came, I just could not believe the presentation. I think post Covid we are all used to paying more for less, including when it comes to customer service and aesthetics. I ordered a bento box and it came so pretty, I almost didn’t want to eat it. I was stuffed by the end of it and my husband was really happy with what he ordered as well. Miso soup was delicious - side of rice and hot tea was included. We will definitely be back!!
