I travel to California a lot, and have developed a taste for breakfast burritos. But until now, DC breakfast burritos have been a string of disappointments. Greasy eggs, Kraft cheese (or one step up “Mexican blend”) overcooked bacon…
But Monstera made an actually good burrito. The eggs are fluffy, real crema, and an astonishingly good salsa. Holy cow. And that’s before the filling I chose - cumin eggplant - which really knocked my socks off.
Good job guys.
I’m writing this review because this restaurant is in a weird out of the way spot, and exceptional food should be rewarded.

Read moreBiked an hour to get a burrito just to find out they ran out of food. They just opened and was excited just to be turned away. Staff was not very accommodating either.
Update. We went back to order the breakfast burrito. I had the breakfast boi. I give the burrito a 7/10. As far as breakfast burritos go, it was a little cold and not mixed very well. My last bite as a large chunk of cheese that was not fully melted.

If there was, it was really hard to see, but the bowl was definitely FULL of rice -- way more than I'd want in a breakfast bowl. I get that eggs are pricey these days, but either warn me that there won't be any eggs or barely any eggs in the item or charge me more.
