Read moreI read all of the “glowing” posts about this place and figured I would try it. Food was fine - it was the dine-in experience that was awful. While inside the restaurant, the manager was constantly yelling at the (incredibly sweet) staff. She stood at the pick up area trying to expedite the orders - which is fine - but this place is the size of a shoebox .. so everyone in the restaurant has to listen to the berating. I honestly thought it was a joke or show - until I realized it was not. It got worse when they made a mistake with my order. I ordered a side salad with my meal, and it was accidentally subbed for the fries. I asked for it to be corrected- and was told by the manager (loudly) that I was wrong- and she would be happy to give me fries, but I had to return my (half eaten) salad. I declined - and turned back to my meal. She continued to loudly talk about me - and I asked her to stop. She then came down and sat with me while I was trying to eat to try and explain her point of view. I again asked to her go away. She left, but decides to return back again with a side of fries (I did not ask for or want at this point) and said that “she would have to take the cost of the fries out of the staff tip jar on the register” as she dropped off the fries.. she loudly announced this to the Resturant, disturbing the other diners to make me feel bad. Also I should mention that I have an auditory disability.. so the thought of the staff being punished for what was a simple mistake on both of our parts destroyed me. I started crying - out of being embarrassed and at the center of this whole situation. The wait staff helped me quickly pack up and leave. I struggle with being out in public and visual/auditory issues. And was trying my best to deescalate the situation… also - to boot, I was not the only patron who had missing items form their order .. The following day, I contacted the Resturant to discuss my experience and concerns- and got an email telling me once again it was my fault. From the email - “ Your double crab cake order comes with a salad, and that’s what was included.” You just have to read the menu to know that is not a correct statement… This was a lesson learned for me - look at the bad reviews and not just the total stars and suspect...
1st visit: 7/20/2022 Lobster roll perfection! They have 2 types of lobster rolls: one with mayo & celery, another with lemon butter. I ordered the lemon butter one & it was delicious. The best lobster rolls let the lobster meat speak for itself & the meat was tender & fresh. And the portion of meat was generous. That lobster roll is amazing!! Prices were reasonable. I definitely want to come back & try other things on the menu.
Update: 10/15/2022 Tried the oyster po boy with a side of French fries. The po boy was ok. I think it needs more oysters. And I would've preferred less sauce on the sandwich itself. Didn't wow me like the lobster roll. Came for lunch. They were understaffed so service was a bit slow. I dined in & also requested a cup of water with ice & lemon. The server never brought my water though. I'll be back because I want to try everything on the menu though, lol
Update: 10/22/2022 Came back for lunch. A toasty fall day in Georgetown so I sat at the outdoor tables this time for lunch. I like the thoughtful touch of having insect repellent at the table. I've gotten mosquito bites in Georgetown before. So annoying. Anyway, they hired more staff so service wasn't slow this time. Servers were attentive.
I ordered small New England clam chowder & single jumbo lump crab cake with French fries. It was good...seasoned, but the taste of fresh crab still came thru. Crab meat was tender. Remoulade sauce on the side was delicious. Glad the sauce was on the side rather than on the crab cake. Cole slaw was crunchy. I wish the New England clam chowder had more clams in it. So the chowder was just ok. I'd say the crab cake was better than the oyster po boy...but the maine lobster roll (the first dish I tried here really outshines all other menu items so far)
Update: 1/10/2023 Ok. I'm done ordering other things on the menu. Just get the maine lobster roll & a side of French fries. It's the best thing on there. I tried the fish & chips and like the other menu items, it was just ok. The maine lobster roll really is their star. I've only tried the lemon butter version because I don't like mayonnaise.
Update: 6/16/2024 The hushpuppies are absolutely scrumptious. The chilled Maine lobster 🦞 roll always delivers. The lobster...

The vibe? Casual, upbeat, and refreshingly unpretentious. It’s a tiny spot with a clean, rustic interior — think wood counters, friendly banter, and zero attitude.
