Yikes. I stay in hotels almost weekly for work and love smaller, boutique and historic hotels for the charm - and typically the service. The evening and overnight service is lackluster, at best, but that is absolutely not the impetus for my review. If you want to skip all the reading below - just look at the pictures. That should be enough. When I reached the room, I noticed that it was uncomfortably warm and stuffy, but upon checking the thermostat, could see that it was set to 65. I assumed that perhaps the last guest had turned it off and the room was now cooling since being serviced. I changed and left for dinner - assuming it would be comfortable upon my return. It was not. I called the front desk who sent maintenance up. After messing with the AC unit for a bit, the very kind building engineer offered to bring me a portable AC unit - which was a lifesaver. Ultimately, an annoyance, but not enough for a one star review. This hotel is simply not properly maintained. It is historic, yes, but that shouldn’t account for the utter FILTHY state it was in. It was late when I came back so I did not notice these things until the morning. When I was showering, I noted that the grout had a buildup of mildew that could easily be prevented with proper cleaning. I was utterly grossed out and made sure to not touch anything in the shower (yes; I always bring shower shoes). But then I saw the toilet. MY GOD THE TOILET. This is, hands down, the single most DISGUSTING toilet I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Anywhere in the world. And it obviously isn’t the function of a single poor or missed cleaning. This is months - likely years - of neglect. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves - and they are YELLING. Do not stay here. Management is clearly struggling. The towels are branded for another (no longer in existence) hotel. As I was hustling to get the hell out of this dump, I looked up and saw un-repaired evidence of a prior ceiling leak. This place is beyond tired; it’s exhausted. Take your money elsewhere because management obviously doesn’t give a damn.

The hotel is gorgeous. It is a quant old building in a cute Georgetown neighborhood. The rooms are small and noise carries, but I expect that in an old building. The building is what gives the boutique hotel its charm and appeal. The room I was in was small, with just enough room to maneuver around the bed. I was surprised they did not offer an upgrade for Diamond status, given there were only a few other travelers staying, but that's ok as it doesn't always happen. The A/C did not work properly (I set it at 65 degrees and it was over 70 the next morning!), and when management inquired how my stay was I informed them the A/C was not working properly. It took two days for them to respond to see if I wanted someone to address the issue. Two days? I expect if I do not have the 'do not disturb' sign up that the issue is addressed before waiting two days to ask if I want it addressed. The second issue was breakfast. Now, before I complain, the restaurant is themed as a speakeasy in the basement. It is very well done, and the staff (along with the front desk desk staff) were wonderful. However, for a Diamond member they only offer a $15 room credit for breakfast. Well, except for the side dishes, there is only one item at $15, but with tax it still exceeds the credit. I ended up with two eggs and bacon (both side dishes) and still paid the $1.50 extra since it came to $16.50. Management should ensure their loyal customers can order a meal from the menu at no charge. Most Hilton properties I stay at offer $25/person when they offer room credits. The Conrad in Washington DC does just that. Management's response to this complaint was "we will pass that along to the appropriate department". Overall, it was a nice stay and I would stay there again. My complaints are minor and could easily be addressed. Though, I would consider this a hotel for leisure, not business travel.

We chose this location because we love Georgetown and we wanted to be in a good location to walk to everything. The Graham certainly fits the bill here - it's close to all kinds of restaurants/bars in Georgetown as well as the waterfront - it even has its' own rooftop bar that they are working on! Check-in experience was good, but could've been better. Valet was great, super quick & helpful (which is good, because you're sort of blocking a one-way street when you park for valet). We walked in to the front desk at 3:41 and were told the room wasn't ready for check-in yet. The lobby was full (with other groups also waiting to check-in) and we had our dog with us - so we went back outside and walked in the rain for a bit until we received a text from the hotel at 4:01 that the room was ready. I understand most hotels have a 4pm check-in, but I definitely struggle to believe that the room ACTUALLY wasn't ready when we first walked up and that they really needed another 20 minutes to have it ready. It felt more like them sticking hard and fast to their rule which was frustrating. Thankfully we were back to the hotel as check-in began and my wife realized she got a key virtually so we didn't need to stand in line and wait - which was a huge relief because the main elevator was out of service and we had to wait for the much smaller service elevator. We ended up first in line for this thanks to the virtual key, but there was a tremendous line behind us and the elevator only fit 3-4 people comfortably so that must have been a terrible wait. I would imagine they could have easily avoided this line if they simply began checking people in gradually prior to 4 rather than creating this problem for themselves by limiting everyone to the same check-in time. Got up to the room which was lovely and perfect for our group and had a nice view. We like it cold so we always turn the AC down as far as it go as soon as we walk in. About an hour later it hadn't cooled down much from 71 and so we called down before going out for dinner. They sent someone up RIGHT AWAY which was great and he said they had just switched over from heat and he needed to change something to allow AC to flow. Great. We get back a few hours later after dinner and drinks to find that the room has heated up to 80 degrees - we call down and a few minutes later they send someone up with room keys to move us down the hall to another room. It would have been nice if they brought a luggage cart up with them, but we happily fled the hot scene and went down the hall. When my wife booked the rooms via their website she added credits for breakfast. We sit down at the breakfast location directly next door and mention that we have breakfast credits on our room. The gentleman running the restaurant must have checked this with the front desk, so the gentleman from the front desk comes over to insist that he does not see breakfast credits on the room. My wife pulls up the email confirmation from the Graham showing clear as day the charges broken down with $120 of breakfast credits as one of the last line items. He continues to insist that it is not on our bill and that he can show us if we want. Finally the kind man running the restaurant says "why don't we comp this and figure it out later" which was good because the man from the front desk was nowhere near a solution, he just kept insisting what was and wasn't on our bill. Thankfully he put us in touch with Anton who was very kind and understanding of the whole experience and helped to make things right. We would definitely come back here for the location and hope for better luck with the room conditions and probably avoid the breakfast credit thing since there are many good places to eat nearby. Could've been a horrible experience if not for Anton stepping in and helping sort things out. Very grateful for him and will...

Two weekends ago my wife and I stayed here for our 11 year anniversary. We heard so much about the Graham and had visited the rooftop before, so we couldnt wait to stay.

We booked the Frank Sinatra suite and we throughly enjoyed that suite. It was very spacious. The suite had a wonderful stand up shower and a seperate soaking tub that was amazing. In addition to having two tvs in the room, it had this wonderful outside patio with a high top table for 4 and a sitting area that had cushion seats for sitting of 6. You could fit quite a bit of people on the patio.

On Saturday night we had a party of 13 join us for our anniversary and we visited the Rooftop and had excellent service. The rooftop has an amazing view of Georgetown and the decor and seating make the rooftop an upscale place to be on Saturday night. The food is good and so are the drinks.

After we left the rooftop, we went down to the speakeasy and had dinner. The speakeasy had a live jazz band that was awesome and it was a more intimate but lively enviroment. We had to oppurtinity to sit inside and listen to the music and we sat outside in the patio and had dinner! You can still hear the music in the patio area. It did start to rain but the staff there made sure we were accomdated properly due to the weather.

Sunday we ended back on the rooftop for more drinks and apps and had a great time!

There was a lack of communication and understanding from the sales team at the Graham which in turn affected our reservations at the Speakeasy. Which you can imagine on my 11 year anniversary weekend, didnt sit well. Once i spoke with management at The Graham they and thier staff, did everything they could to make the night a success. Because of that, I wanted to call out a few people due to the outstanding customer service, outstanding assistance, and willingness to do whatever it took to make our stay enjoyable.

First of, we met a wonderful young lady at the front desk named Tytianna. She was very courteous, very helpful, and very attentative to our needs and concerns. She is great at what she does and she deserves all the credit for her professionlism. She went out of her way to visit us at the Speakeasy to make sure that we had the proper attention to any issues we were running into. If you run into her at the front desk, tell her the Hayes said hi!!!

Next up, we meet a waitress in the Rooftop named Jennifer. She was amazing! Jennifer continually checked in on our party and verified we had everything we needed. She didnt forget a want or need. We had a party of 13 and she was there for us from the dinner we had at the Speakeasy to finishing off at the Rooftop. They pulled her from other tables to take of us because they knew what type of person she was and that was awesome in a trying time. Every time I had a question, she had an answer and a solution. She took accountablity for a problem that wasnt hers and for all of that, I thank her. We all hugged each other when we left!!

Last but not least, I want to thank the manager, Mesut. As someone who is in management and has been for 9 years, I appreciated and was extremely thankful for the way that Mesut handled himself and his staff. I was able to speak to Mesut about everything that was going on and he was attentive, empathetic , sympathetic, and extremely helpful. When Im back at The Graham for a visit and he is there leading the way, I know we will be in good hands. Thank you for being there that day for us!!

I would suggest staying at The Graham and visiting the rooftop and speakeasy. Once you check in, you dont have to leave. While there, check in with Jennifer, say hi to Tytianna, and shake hands with Mesut. If you decice to leave, you are walking distance from everything in Georgetown which is...

One year later from our wedding reception we had at the Graham & I realized I only left this review on Yelp and not Google.

Short story: Unless management has changed COMPLETELY, do not book an event here.

Long story: They did a management change as I was working through our contract for our wedding reception here. 3 weeks out from our wedding (June 8 last year), I finally got them to solidify all details of the contract and did a full walk through with them. We paid for early setup, discussed the types of tables, when the food and open bar should be ready, utilizing Bluetooth speakers and having a microphone, and our “grand exit” up the stairs.

Wedding day arrives, and when my now husband arrived to check on what should have been a fully setup area in order to drop off a few decor items, he walked into not a single thing being setup yet - there were people still eating in the area our reception was going to be. When he talked to the only manager that was there at the time - they said they were aware of the wedding but didn’t have staff available for setup. The groomsmen came back after the ceremony (during what was our cocktail hour) and had to work on setting up everything themselves. When we arrived with the rest of our guests, setup was still not fully done. The wrong tables were used and setup wrong compared to what was written in the contract, the open bar was still not setup, and the food station was not setup. There was also no Bluetooth speaker setup yet. We had to do our toasts and speeches without anyone even having a water yet. The full menu we paid for was never brought out (specifically the pasta type that I had requested). Then when we went to do our grand exit, which I had discussed with the head of the department at the time, they had locked the door for the exit. We had to get in a heated argument before they unlocked the door for our exit.

To top it all off, the woman who was barely responsive during the contract process tried to call us as we were driving home after we had just left the reception…ON THE WEDDING NIGHT! I emailed them to reconcile and ask for a partial refund, as their on site staff that night told us to due to how much things were messed up. They called us as we were flying out for our honeymoon and I asked if we could email due to me wanting everything in writing. They responded at first acknowledging all of the things that were wrong and how the contract was not upheld, but then when it came time to discuss refunds…no response. I followed up several times with no response. Ghosted.

So, now I will make sure that anyone looking to book an event there sees this first through reviews. Beware of booking there - the pictures and the videos still turn out cute, but you don’t want to have to get in multiple heated discussions on your wedding night regarding the failure to uphold a contract by...
