You would think matching food to a receipt would be something smooth and easy, but itās proven to be rocket science for this business. I guess I can blame myself for giving them more than two tries, after they dropped the ball two times in a row. However, when youāre sick and you want soup, what more can you do? Regrettably, I gave them a third chance that was not a charm, ordering a small soup, coco bread and a beef pattie via DoorDash. My order was delivered with the bag stapled, proving nothing was taken by the dasher. Blatant neglect from the business as this is the third time Iāve ordered and Iāve not received the food. I contacted the business to see if they were out of stock or why is this a reoccurring issue. I was told by the young lady who answered the phone that they did have beef patties, and cocoa bread in stock. I alerted her to the ongoing issues and the new issue, that I only received a soup, some other patty (not a beef patt), and no bread, equaling half my order! I was placed on hold. She came back to let me know that the manager said there was nothing he can do about my order that was placed through DoorDash. The manager failed to get on the phone, failed to apologize or simply acknowledge their ongoing mistakes. I receive no apology, no resolution.. ājust spend your money and we send you what we want toā is basically the way they complete their orders. The last time they make a fool out of me, the last time Iāll spend my money there! The soup was cold with no vegetables, one small piece of meat. I donāt know what that was stuffed in that patty, but I donāt eat it. Definitely donāt feel valued as a customer So I will take my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI typically eat at the Negril location in Silver Spring, but I was at work in DC and decided to try this one. So, I decided to order a delivery through grubhub. Man oh man was this a bad decision...
It was terrible!!!!! And I will never do it again. The food was promised for between 1:48-1:58 then they kept sending text messages saying the food was delayed. Apparently, the restaurant was running behind. My food finally arrived at 2:37p. Then the curry chicken was not fully cooked and was red. The rum cake tasted old and stale. I ended up throwing out the cake and took the chicken home to finish cooking it. After I cooked the chicken it tasted better. And it was white like cooked chicken should be... Terrible!!!!! Do not waste your money at this location. You'll be better going to the one in Silver Spring, unless, you wanna eat here and get salmonella from uncooked meat. But you wanna live and avoid a lengthy conversation with the bathroom go to the Silver Spring location, their food is fully cooked, taste good,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been in DC for ten years and when I came to Howard I was genuinely happy about some Caribbean Cuisine like my moms home-cooking (my family is from Trinidad and Tortola (BVI). Wellllll this food is not Caribbean cuisine to me, not Jamaican either. I just...don't enjoy the food. If I am to eat here I would get the cocoa bread because you can't go wrong. The cabbage to me is too oily and the curry chicken just doesn't taste like curry chicken to me. Oh they normally have dessert, like cakes and stuff that aren't that bad. I personally just don't enjoy the food. Location is convenient, especially for Howard students. Service isn't that bad. And honestly, they have a good flow of people so I may be in the minority as far as people who don't like their food. I gave it two starts because I do go grab rice and gravy when I am starving, and my boss loves their coco bread and beef patty. But if i wanted West Indian food, I personally would...
