Ever since COVID, they started to experiment with their payment system. First it was just going up to the front desk to order and then you sit down and they bring you the food and pay and tip. Now, they make you sit down and an employee comes to you as a waiter to take your order. After you order, you pay and they automatically charge you a 20% tip. If they increased the tip just because they now come to your table to take the order, then they should change their layout or have at least 2 employees at the front (one for take-out and one for dine-in). The layout is such that you walk up to the front desk to order. What's the point of having that layout if you're dining in only to be asked to be seated because they'll come to you to take your order? Also, if you now do take-out they charge a $1 "take-out" fee, which isn't much but still weird as they didn't have this before. I'm not sure if either their business is doing bad or they're understaffed, but they need to make the system a lot more intuitive or else it leaves a bad taste in your mouth whether you dine-in with 20% tip or take-out with ambiguous $1 fee.
I've been coming to this place since the beginning of 2021 only because it's close to my apartment. I would say the worst part is the service. There's this one male employee in the front line and he definitely has an attitude. He asked me if I was okay with the 20% tip and I was kinda taken aback as 20% is an unusual tip amount and I didn't have a say. As I paused, he then frowned at me and asked me if I had a problem as if he was the one who actually had a problem. I was shocked by the service and there was a group of people waiting for that guy to be seated as he was the only employee working so I just said I didn't have a problem.
Despite their unusual payment and services, the food is not bad. The pho is pretty average but the bahn mi is great. I would only recommend this place if you don't have anywhere else to go or if you're just...
Read moreI entered and didn’t see the menu right away so I asked the only person that looked like they worked there. He rudely pointed me to the QR code and walked away. After standing there for a very long time, I knew what I wanted but he never said are you ready? Or anything. Finally we make eye contact and he said “you know what you want?” I ordered. Once my food came out tightly wrapped, I opened it to see how much sauce was included. Wasn’t enough for me so I waited and looked around. Didn’t see the server or whomever he was so I grabbed a bottle from the table and commenced to put some in my broth. All of a sudden, the server storms out the back and chastises me (in front of everyone) and says it costs 10 dollars a bottle along with some other mumbles. I apologized and said “I’ll pay for it, just let me know how much”. He grunted and gave me attitude blurting out “a dollar”. I said ok and tried to pay with my card and he wouldn’t ring it up. This told me that price was made up. Then I said, I worked at The corner and that I’ll bring the dollar back. I did and I will never step foot in there again!!! Too bad too because I eat pho a few times a week. Didn’t feel welcome in this place from the start. Very rude. Customer service was the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ordered take out originally but realized I had more time to sit since my next meeting got pushed back. Before my food came out I did ask if I could now dine in. I was told I couldn’t. Not sure why as it was never stated...
Read moreI didn’t have a really good experience here the service was terrible. This was my first time trying pho and I feel like the girl with the glasses wasn’t really caring too much about my existence.she wasn’t really helpful rolling her eyes anytime I asked her a question she had a very snobby demeanor as if I shouldn’t be talking to her when she is the waitress. The pho was a4.5 I’m pretty sure I ate the left over scraps but it ok I still was polite to the young lady I also was paying with Apple Pay and my phone end up dying ….. I ask if I could use her charger which was plugged up in the back and she looked me in my face and told me she don’t have one …. She didn’t want me to touch her stuff and it showed . Instead one of her friend let me use there charger and I only used it for 3 minutes just in time to pay so to show my appreciation I actually gave her friend her tip which was $10 I’ll never come here again promise you definitely needs to talk to the higher-ups it was definitely...
