When you think something is great, 9 times out of 10, so does everyone else⦠La Colombe Coffee Roasters is that great coffee shop you will love.
For starters, it is a fantastic atmosphere. If you are into a very studio apartment or modern office space vibe, then this is the coffee shop for you. It is bright, clean, great coffee and good coffee shop snacks. If you are looking for that modern coffee shop with a nice clean bright vibe, then head over to La Colombe. But you better runā¦
With all those great points there are a few things about this coffee shop that fall a bit short and seating is one of them. If you plan to visit this coffee shop on a Saturday, you might as well stay home. The past three weeks I have walked into La Colombe around 10:30-11am it has been packed with no seating what so ever. This happens quite a lot. You can check google analytics for their busiest times but they are always busy⦠To La Colombeās credit, they do have several other coffee shops sporting the same vibe and image all over downtown. So if you biked over to one La Colombe that is packed, you can always ride another mile down the road to another one and claim a spot there.
Another major point to include about La Colombe is that they do not have wi-fiā¦like at all. I know there are some coffee shops around the area that shut of wi-fi at certain times like weekends and happy hour, but La Colombe has none. You can sometimes hop onto a neighbors wi-fi in certain locations but in the store, you are out of luck. So if you are planning on doing some serious web surfing or uploading of anything this is not going to be that place. However, if you are looking for a quiet place distraction free from the social media black hole, then I can see how it can be very advantageous.
Other than that, I think La Colombe is a fantastic coffee shop with a great vibe and atmosphere for hardcore book worms and casual meet ups. I see lots of business professionals meeting there as an almost free workspace location. So if this sounds like the kind of place you want to hang out at I highly recommend it. But you better get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBLUF (bottom line up front): service is horrible and rudely arrogant. Thereās a lot of other coffee places around the area with same quality or even better products and service.
We came in and ordered, and I guess after you pay, the baristas donāt really care to show any type of service or consideration to the fact that you just gave them business.
After picking up the overpriced iced drinks we ordered (very watered down, and has a weird after taste to it), we tried to be kind and say we didnāt need the extra things they provided us, but no response or acknowledgement (and no, there was nobody ordering at that time). Okay, not a problem. Still maybe a 3.5 stars with a C-average service (at this point) and C-average coffee for a C-average price.
So for a venue that is nice and open, there was hardly any open table that 2 people can just join and drink coffee, so seeing that there was no traffic at all at the spacious bar area that they have, we decided to grab a couple of stools from a table and sit at the end of the bar. The next thing we know, one of the baristas (guy in a blue SnapBack working on a Sunday around 1:30pm) placed (quite forcefully) a plate with a to go cover in front of us. We kindly said we didnāt need it. But he answered āoh this is for another customer.ā The rest of the bar surface area and the front was empty; he could have placed this at another area, but he decided to place it in front of us. So I said, ācan we not sit here?ā He said in an arrogant tone, āNo this isnāt for sitting, itās for others to pick up their orders.ā
We came to this shop to cool down and get some coffee, not to be rudely talked to in a passive aggressive manner. If we canāt sit there, then just tell us in a kind manner instead of being snooty and silently slam down something in front of us as an indication of āget the eff out of this counterā. We are paying customers, communicate and treat us with some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreProblem: The burista is slightly unskilled socially. She refused to have me even walk into the store because I had my well-behaved dog with me. Explained that I just want a put an order for a to-go. She kicked me out saying "We have a sign"
Girl please, if you have any social skills you would recognize that it's rude to kick people out. You could have just let me put my mocha order and have me wait outside and I'd happily do that. when the order is ready she could have bring it to me or let me walk in and walk out. Half of the neighborhood walking around with their dogs in the morning and guess what? They all go to Tate with their dogs to get a drink and sit and eat with their š with them. it is not illegal itw just "your policy"
The girl is working right now Thursday, July 10 2025 8 am.
For management: please teach your robotic unsociable skill employee a better program to execute when she encounters a customer with a dog. Apparently, the installed coding right now is rude. Tell her if the costumr have a dog, come outside and take thier order dont just kick them out and say "sorry the...
