I'm not sure what happened last night but my order was horrible. The bread sticks had mold on them...I kinda feel like that's all I need to say 🤷🏿♀️ but also I was really excited for the lamb soup which I paid $20 for and ended up with 4 sips worth of soup without much any lamb (was in the smallest carryout plastic container. The wings were cold (could've been a different issue) and maybe this is just the flavor of Georgian ribs but it tasted like watery tomato paste with a hint of spice. The wings were soaked in cold tomato soup basically. Maybe I should've stuck with Georgian meals I've had in the past but if it's on the menu I assume you can cook it. The mold is just unacceptable.
In response to owner: This wasn't based on malice, I have no ill will. I purposely started my review with I don't know what happened last night indicating that hopefully this was a one time situation. You should consider instead of hitting back on reviews is simply explain yourself and not make assumptions about the persons intentions. Just a tip. My point is making sure the restaurant and other people know what happened. The bread smelled moldy and looked moldy there were several that didn't have the green stuff on it at all and some that just had specks and some almost covered in it. That inconsistency indicated to me a chance that the restaurant may not have noticed that they had a few breadsticks that had gone bad. I've had other Georgian breadsticks and have...
Read moreI’m a big fan of Georgian food so I was excited to stumble upon RAD ODA on Doordash. I ordered the lamb and herb khinkali, borscht, and oda salad.
Highly recommend the lamb and herb khinkali! These juicy explosions of flavor are the best khinkali I’ve ever had.
I don’t normally care for borscht, but I decided to give theirs a try and I’m so glad I did. It was flavorful, topped with herbs, served warm, and absolutely delightful with their garlic breadsticks and sour cream. The bread sticks also seemed to be freshly baked. I would order this again and also try their baked items.
The ODA salad was like your typical cucumber and tomato Mediterranean salad but made extra special with the pomegranate seeds, cheese, cilantro, and spices. A+
In all, I found RAD ODA to serve food that is clearly made with pride and quality ingredients. I wish I took pictures of my food before I ate it but I look forward ordering from them again and supporting this new...
Read moreOk, finally. REAL GEORGIAN FOOD in the DMV. Khinkali was amazing, it's a giant soup dumpling that has a unique feature where you grab the bib, turn it upside down and take a bite to suck out the soup while the upside down bib acts like a mini dough plate allowing you to eat the rest at your leisure. The walnut stuffed eggplant with pomegranate seeds is a true classic, with a unique spice profile hard to get right in the US. Yes, I have had the pleasure of being a guest at a Georgian family table before. Can't wait to go back and try the khachapuri (cheese boat bread) and the soups. And the chicken. Also the walnut sauce with the Imeritian saffron should win a medal somewhere. Really hope they open a restaurant with sit down...
