What can I say about Salt and Pepper Grill? Amazing food, wonderful, warm, gentle, inviting and kind customer service! The atmosphere inside is very homely, modest and humble! The large windows outlooking the busy streets add to the atmosphere! Now let's get down to the "nitty, gritty"; the food! Me and my wife have been to Salt and Pepper twice now and the first time I ordered the Goat Biryani and the portions for the price were unbelievable or better yet unbeatable! This second time around, me and my wife ended up ordering the Butter Chicken each and let me tell you, the Butter Chicken was the perfect consistency of richness, and thickness! We also ordered each one extra Naan to dip in the Butter Chicken and it was the perfect floury cherry on top! The oil was still dripping off of the Flour Nann, it was warm and crispy! We will be back! This will be a staple place for me and my wife as we are lovers of...
Read moreBest rated Indian food in DC? Yes, please. With high expectations, my wife and two friends ventured up to NW DC from Capitol Hill to try this place's naan and tikka masala. My friend and I had it in our minds that this place would be a nice sit down restaurant so we were surprised to find a whole-in-the-wall restaurant with fluorescent lighting.
You order your food next to a buffet of Indian food, which doesn't give you the best impression, but wait until you get the food. The naan is for sure the best I've had in DC perfectly hot and buttered. I loved the tikka masala, but it was a little more sweet than you are probably used to (My wife and friend didn't enjoy it, but I loved it!). My wife and friend got the biryani and enjoyed it. My other friend (from Delaware) got butter chicken and enjoyed it too.
If you like Indian, venture up to NW to at least...
Read moreI L O V E this restaurant. If it wasn't so expensive I would eat it every other day. The ONLY thing I don't like about this restaurant is there delivery driver. He is very rude and will try to hound you if he thinks you didn't give him a good enough tip they should look into hiring someone else. I usually order the lamb kahari and its spice level is on 100! I love it ! if you have bland taste buds don't get this dish. I think its HILARIOUS when people complain about the spice of Indian food. Like its common knowledge that there dishes are usually on the spicy side! If you don't like it THEN DON"T ORDER IT. Ugh people are so used to eating bland unseasoned food they don't know what good...
