Between another off the ranch horse training session, and on our way to run yet another long list of never ending ranch errands, it was time for lunch. I had seen Stacks’ sign, but knew nothing about them. I did not know this was their first foray into a brick and mortar location after years of selling burgers from a food truck.
The restaurant was very clean, and nicely decorated. For a partial serve restaurant, it was nice to see cleared and clean tables.
Ray and I were warmly and enthusiastically greeted as we entered the restaurant. While it is a sit down restaurant, it is an “order and pay at the counter first” and then “find a table and wait for it to be served” restaurant.
As this was our first time, I asked a few questions and for recommendations before placing our order. Ray and I each ordered the double stacks burger, with a fries and drink combo. I chose lemonade to drink.
Ray spent several minutes perusing the milkshake offerings because there are A LOT of choices, plus optional add-ons. He finally decided on a Butter Brickle shake.
Our meals came out fairly quickly. The fries were fresh and hot, not soggy.
The cook brought out our food and called our name once. We didn’t hear it as Ray and I were talking. I saw her bring out the food, look around, set the tray down on an empty table and walk to the back. I had to ask the counter person if that was our meal, because other customers had come in, and begun ordering. The cook did not know whether the food was ours, but the counter person confirmed it. So I picked up the tray and took it back to our table. He was taking orders or I am pretty sure he would have brought it to us.
Condiments and napkins are located on the back wall. Those are self serve as well. There is nothing on the tables.
While ordering, I was handed a paper cup for my lemonade. The drinks are self serve with multiple free refills for guests dining inside.
It took a few minutes for Ray to receive his milkshake after our hot food was delivered. They appear to be hand dipped and it did not disappoint. Ray is a milkshake connoisseur and he is not into mediocre milkshakes. Ray raved about how good it was.
Our burgers were juicy and flavorful but a little too salty for our taste. I cut my burger in half which was a mistake. Once you pick it up there is no putting it down as it will fall apart and you won’t be able to pick it back up again.
The counter person greeted everyone who came in warmly and with enthusiasm. He checked on us often and did his best to make our meal enjoyable.
I don’t know who Stacks uses for their music service, but it kept burping and dragging. While I don’t normally give background music a lot of notice, the music faltered enough to be noticeable.
All in all we enjoyed our meal. I would recommend it if you are looking for a good burger and a real milkshake.
The lack of full service and the fact that our meal was just set on an empty table because we didn’t hear our names called was a bit off putting.
Whoever was running the counter when we were there us with his weight in gold. I hope someone from Stacks reads this and pays attention to this employee. He was the reason why we didn’t leave when our food was abandoned on a table. He quickly took care of a large group who came in and placed to go orders. He treated each person as someone special and valued and gave each of them his undivided attention, while acknowledging new customers entering the restaurant.
Ray and I prefer full service when we go out to eat. This type of service was not a total deal breaker. I would definitely consider...
Read moreWhere do I start there's so much to say. I called 5 mi s before getting there and they didn't answer there phone so when I got there (thinking it was going to be super busy) one lady paying for her food then a guy sitting in there eating his food then me. When I paid for my food she asked me if I wanted my change. Humm so just basically asking for a tip ( which she did the same to another lady that had called in her order and picking up) weird how I couldn't make a phone order... In the inside they had this make shift wall that the beams were crooked the top. The other wall that held a TV sideways with there menu on it (very creative) looked like the beam was coming because you could see the nail yes a nail not a screw. Then the picture in the wall is a poster with a wood looking border. They had a metal shelf up front with pop cans on top then Left over boxes. Personally I would kept that on the other side of the make shift wall. I do think as time goes by with this store the inside should get better it kinda looks like how a burger truck would look like to me. This is just my opinion about it. I am glad something new came in this area we need that. We ordered 2 stacks and fries and the burgers were delicious the fries in the other hand were soft and no...
Read moreI'm definitely never coming back here. When we first entered, there was a couple ordering, and it sounded like one of the people maybe work there. We take a few minutes with the menu, then place our order and go find a table to dine-in. Every table we looked at was dirty, so we just picked the least messy of them and wiped it off ourselves. There was a steady flow of people coming in for pickup orders, and as far as I could tell, there was just one girl running the register and one girl cooking. When the people who ordered right before us received their food, the girl who was cooking came out and was chatting with them for about 10 minutes. Talking really low, it sounded like she was venting about personal stuff. It ended up being about 25-30 minutes before we got our food, which was just two burgers and some fries. When our food arrived, we were told, "Sorry, she had like 3 online orders that came in right before you ordered." OK, and another 10 minutes of chatting with her friend? We're sitting right here, and we can see you, so that's a lie. And only one DD order went out during that whole time. Our burgers were both really overcooked. I was going to use some ketchup for my fries, but the bottle was gross like it hadn't been...
