This review is now about quality or taste. It’s my experience and the customer service I received. On Tuesday morning I went to the CH location to purchase 12 cupcakes. I was on my motorcycle ( I have to clarify that I was riding a touring bike, which means it’s a large bike with big bags, you will see soon why this information is relevant ). When I asked the attendant that instead of using a large box if I couldn’t please have 3 of the 4 cupcake boxes because they would fit in the bags better. She said that she could actually fit 6 cupcakes in each box I was like great. At that moment it was my mistake for not checking if by doing so the box would still have the added round cupcake holder cutout. Unfortunately they don’t because the box is made to hold 4 cupcakes not 6. So I purchased the 12 cupcakes and paid about 48$. The boxes fit perfectly in the hard motorcycle bags. It was early morning and the temp was about 68 degrees ( again this is relevant you will see soon ). I drove about 22 min to my destination. When I arrived I opened the box expecting to see those great looking cupcakes to surprise my colleagues for a impromptu birthday cry. However what I saw was a mash potatoes of cupcakes. Since the box did not have the cutout cupcake holder the fell and toppled on one another also since they were moving around so much the icing was also a complete mess. I was so disappointed and sad I felt I had to at least call and let the store know what happened. The the young person answered i informed her that the boxes although they do fit 6 cupcakes it doesn’t work because the round cutout holder was not there to stabilize them from moving and fall over and not allow the icing to get convoluted. I was not expecting anything at that moment from the store. The response I received was just an ok Thank you for letting use know. There was not an ounce of empathy or even sympathy. Not even an I am so sorry that happened I can imaging you are not happy you spent 50$ and it’s been completely wasted. I even said to them I am going to buy more cupcakes now because I can not present these to. Person for a birthday wish. She did not even offer to come back and she would replace them or she would help me out with getting more cupcakes. Absolutely nothing as I said not even a sorry. It’s sad just sad. The bottom line is I spent almost 100$ on 24 cupcakes and had to trash 12 and the store I found out does not care about there customer service. I find it ironic that an establishment that care so much for the environment and setting a president with being vegan and all that goes with it. They don’t seem to care about the most important this which is there customers and being honorable and there dignity. So I pondered and decided to reach out to the store the next day and let them know what happened and so I sent them almost exactly what I have written above. They asked me for pictures and I was compliant in the request. Again I was not expecting anything. There response email “ We are sorry to hear that your cupcakes did not arrive in a condition you were happy with. Please send us photos so we can look into this further”. They are sorry my cupcake didn’t arrive in a condition I was happy with. Honestly that is a BS response. They might have just said sent me a picture so that I can pick it apart and blame you for this problem. Because we are perfect and anything else you did it not us. So again I sent them the pictures and thanks them for there response. This is Sticky fingers conclusion, “ Thank you for sending these photos. Unfortunately it looks like what happened with most of the cupcakes is that the frosting melted as a result of being out in the sunlight on a warm day for an extended period of time. We do see that two of the cupcakes fell over, and we can offer you a store credit for those two cupcakes as a one time courtesy, but ultimately we are not responsible for damage that happens to the product once it leaves our store.” Not surprising they are blaming the customer not surprising they are making

We are gluten-free and dairy-free. If that's you, this may be a good option. Everything there is dairy-free, with some options also being gluten-free. Service is mid. If you call them, it often takes days for someone to answer or return a call. When you go in-person, the salesperson is knowledgeable but not necessarily warm. We've been several times for a sweet-giz. The brownies are moist and sweet (the one thats like a brownie sandwich with cream in the middle had more of a cake consistency and bot super moist like a brownie). The cookies that I've tried (oatmeal whoopie/cream pie and chocolate chip) were not very moist and only moderately sweet. I don't necessarily need a lot of sweetness, but my crew does, and they thought it was just ok. I recently ordered a birthday cake from them for my neice. After some back-and-forth and calling over 2 days, they accommodated our request to pick it up for hours earlier (they have a 72-hour pre-order rule, or something like that). Had someone answered our calls, it would've been easy to adjust the time, but i digress... The cake was pretty, and the sweetness was on-point. However, it was a bit dry, though. I bake dairy-free and vegan desserts myself, so I know it can be tricky to get the moistness correct, so I'm hoping that they will tinker with their formula to make their items a bit more moist. We would come back bc dairy-free and gluten-free options are slim pickings (it's usually just one or the other), but I would just stick with the brownie. I'm adding a photo of the cake, which was super cute. We purchased the toppers ourselves.

We were searching for a bakery that offered vegan desserts for a very special book-launch event. Our son just launched a book, "Harmony and Light: 10 Meditations for a Peaceful and Purposeful Life," that has a large focus on health and wellness, so, it was very important to us that the sweets be vegan and taste good! After sampling cupcakes at a few bakeries with vegan options, we decided on Sticky Fingers because of their wide selection of cupcake and cookie flavors and because their cupcakes were a good size (not too large and not too small). We ordered three dozen assorted cupcakes and 20 assorted cookies, and we were very happy in the end becuase our guests loved all the treats! The cupcakes were moist and tasty and the cookies were delicious. All the treats were very attractive. Our guests were pleasantly surprised to learn that everything was vegan and nut-free because everything tasted so good. The service was personalized and polite. The bakery filled our order in one day and everything was ready on schedule and in time for our event. We would recommend Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats to others seeking tasty vegan, nut-free sweets, and we will certainly order from this bakery again.

Do not go here. Stale baked goods and worse customer service. I was a regular customer for almost 10 years and due to my last experience I will never return and will no longer recommend this bakery. I ordered a cake for pick up and purchased cupcakes in store and they were very stale. I picked up the cake on Sunday, I called the bakery the next morning to get a refund and I was told the manager would call me back. I received no call back, so I left a voicemail later in the day. Still no call back so I left feedback via email the following day. Still no response. I called the bakery again on Thursday and was told I would get a call back before noon. I received a call back from the store owner, Doron, at 1:30 that day and was on the phone for 10 minutes because I was being questioned if I knew how vegan cakes were supposed to taste and that the cake was fresh. She asked for photos, I texted her photos. She still questioned me about how I served the cake to imply that it was my fault the cake and cupcakes were stale. She asked me to bring the cake in for a refund. I did, and was told by the manager Mel that the refund would be issued once Doron came in at 1pm. I even forwarded my receipt to Mel because they could not find my transaction. I texted the owner to let her know when I was coming in and when I dropped off the cake and received no response. Guess what? Still no refund. The name sticky fingers is fitting: they stole my money and refuse to give me a refund. Do not go here, they want to ignore customers to avoid confronting the fact they are selling old desserts.

Edit: After emailing the bakery again and sending another text to Doron I finally got a response. She argued with me through text stating that she issued a store credit that Friday, but sent me a screenshot showing that the email was sent the following Monday to the incorrect email address. Then stated she never agreed to refunding me. I told her that I had evidence proving the opposite. Then she said she would issue the refund once I removed this review which I declined to do. She eventually did issue the refund. Between calls, emails, and texts, I contacted the bakery 14 times and 9 days later the refund was issued.

I apologize for the long review but I felt a duty to warn others...

5-minute walk from Columbia Heights metro. Cash and card accepted ($5 minimum on card). Great for any age and even non-vegans will love the food & drink. Seating can be tight at peak times but turnover is quick so don't be discouraged if you get there and no tables are open. Don't forget to grab your own silverware from the station near the register (or syrup, or ketchup, or water, etc.). You can park across the street at Giant if you need to pick up a few groceries (i.e. a pack of gum) - there's parking validation at check-out. I can't speak to the regular menu as I'm only there on the weekend, and they only serve from the brunch menu or the case on the weekend. They have several "wheat-free" options including pancakes and a breakfast burrito on the brunch menu, but the kitchen is shared so not great for celiacs. Matcha lattes with coconut milk or the chai are my drink go-to's. From the case, I LOVE the wheat-free silly bonez. I always cut it into slices and have it as an after-work treat during the week. They've got a 'fridge case with the best dill potato salad you've ever tasted, as well as mac 'n cheese and other quick items. There's also a shelf with lots of vegan candy and snacks (unreal m&ms, vegan gummy worms, candy bars, chickpea snacks, etc.). Don't forget to take your dishes to a bin on top of one of the trash cans. Within the big trash can, they have two smaller cans inside - the right is for recyclables only (look for the green sticker)! If you're dining in, ask them to keep the plastic lid for someone else =). I give them four stars only because sometimes the kitchen can move a...
