Sushi King — Restaurant in Washington

Decided to give another chance tonight. Big mistake! $130 in sushi and barely get anything ! Nor does it even taste that great! The other place in town is FAR BETTER! You get so much more for your money, rolls are larger, prices better, and taste is better quality so I will stick to going there because sushi king is not worth it at all!!!!!

I have not been here since it changed to Sushi King from Cherry Blossom. Decided to try it out last night and will be the one and only time I visit this establishment. First, they sat us at a split table with children instead of all together so it made it slightly challenging. But we dealt with it. Our service was complete trash! From getting a refill of warm water after cup sat empty for awhile, she didn't even want to give us ice. Another server brought cups of ice over later on. Half of our food came out while the other half didn't. Server didn't even seem to notice. By the time my kids food came, half of the other food was cold and hard to eat. Had to ask for utensils and napkins. No small soy sauce bowls for dipping. Quality of food was mediocre at best. For the prices and what you get it is definitely not worth it. I honestly have no idea how this place has such a high rating. Anytime I go in for a pick up, I am lied to about the wait times, and based on all the people in the lobby who are also waiting, also looking upset at how long they’ve been there, they’ve also been lied to. I’ve spoken with other people waiting there who have stated that this is just the normal there. So I guess lying to customers about wait times is okay? A “couple minutes” does not extend all the way to thirty minutes. When confronted about this I was lied to again, even though this has happened multiple times, I was told “I said twenty minutes”. No you didn’t. You never said that because if you tell anyone it’s going to be twenty more minutes when they arrive at the scheduled pickup, they’re likely not just going to say “okay that’s fine”. I arrived around 2:00 and it took me finding a waitress to be seated. Nobody came to the entrance for at least 3 to 4 minutes while I stood around waiting to be seated.

Once seated the waitress was very pleasant and took my order quickly.

The food was served quickly, probably within 10 minutes. Their rolls are chubby, no skimping on ingredients for sure.

The Shumai appetizers are different from any others I've ever had. They are deep fried. Still not sure if I liked them that way or not but I would probably order them again just because they are different.

The all you can eat menu is standard, I saw nothing on it any different than every other all you can eat menu except it is a few dollars more.

I would definitely return but perhaps try something from their hibachi grill.
