I used to love coming here, but the last 4 (!) times I got a salad here, my order has been messed up in one way or another. Moreover, the staff are plain rude. Last time, they forgot to include the chicken in my salad, so that I ended up paying $17 for a bowl of lettuce. When I went back to the counter to point out this error, they acted suspicious and demanded to examine my bowl, then refused to remake it for me.
Today, when I tried to order a warm bowl, I was told they're out of quinoa. I offered to wait for it (wasn't in a rush), but they told me "there's no timer on the quinoa so we don't know when it will be ready". Ok, I asked if they can substitute some sweet potatoes instead, since I can't eat rice (the only other carb option they had). They said ok, and then charged me an extra $2.10 for the potatoes at checkout. I pointed out that they should have notified me that a substitute of potatoes would cost extra, especially since they were out of the quinoa which was supposed to be in the bowl. The girl behind the counter stared at me in response, then said 'ok' and turned to the next customer, ignoring me. If your staff messed up and didn't have the correct ingredients to make the item on the menu, you should not be charging extra for your error. The cherry on top - they didn't even give me the slice of bread I had asked for. $18 to be disrespected for a mediocre, incorrectly made salad bowl? No thanks, there are DOZENS of better options in this neighborhood. I...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Sweetgreen at 14th St, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the restaurant's cozy and welcoming ambiance drew me in. The cheerful decor and the soothing background music set the perfect tone for a relaxed dining experience. The star of the show, of course, was their incredible selection of salads. As a health-conscious individual, I'm always on the lookout for fresh and nutritious options, and they made me feel a great experience. The variety of salads on their menu was impressive, offering an array of flavors, textures, and unique combinations. I got the chicken teriyaki which is served with blackened chicken, roasted zucchini, yellow squash, spicy broccoli, raw carrots, basil, shredded cabbage, baby spinach, and sesame teriyaki dressing. I added pesto dressing and it was simply amazing. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Another aspect that impressed me was the restaurant utilizes eco-friendly packaging and sources its ingredients from local farmers whenever possible. It's heartening to support a restaurant that values the environment as much as it does its customers. In conclusion, Sweetgreen is a gem of a salad restaurant in DC and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Whether you're a dedicated salad lover or simply looking for a healthy, flavorful meal, this restaurant will not...
Read moreWe were greeted by whom I assume was the manager, and told that someone would be with us in just a moment. I usually prefer to create my own bowls, but I was disappointed that you could only pick four toppings at which I assume you would be charged for additional toppings. As someone who likes a bowl full of veggies that was disappointing. So I went with One of their bowls it had quite a few of the toppings in it that I wanted.
I got the barbecue chicken bowl but I subbed the tomatoes for cucumbers. I asked for extra dressing, but I should have made sure I liked it first. Lol. It wasn’t horrible, but I wouldn’t get it again(The dressing). Everything was fresh and had a nice crisp. I really enjoyed the chicken. I was quite dissatisfied with the portions. I definitely felt like I could have used more greens. There was too much empty space for the price.
My fiancé got a different meal and he enjoyed his especially the honey? Mustard dressing. The potatoes were great as the chicken. He would have gotten the wild rice instead of the quinoa.
The manager came to our table to ask how everything was and we had a nice conversation with her. Customer service was great, everyone was friendly.
Prices were expensive. We paid $42 for two bowls and two bottles of water. My fiancé did get...
