Hidden gem in a convenience store! The Big Chef serves a variety of dishes, including crepes, breakfast sandwiches, smashburgers, and unique Balkan-style kebabs + sides (the chef/owner is from Montenegro), and everything I’ve tried so far has been high-quality and delicious! My favorite is the ham, cheese, egg, and spicy mayo crepe, which might be the best crepe I’ve ever had — and it was also gigantic! Prices are reasonable, service is fast, and the chef is incredibly nice. And the food really is top-quality for being tucked away in a quiet neighborhood convenience store. I can’t wait to come back again and try more!

And the best part is that he accepts Bitcoin too! I used my own lightning wallet but if you're curious how it works, just buy some Bitcoin on CashApp and then use that to pay the QR code invoice he will show you. This is one of the FIRST businesses to accept Bitcoin in the District.

I just had a double smash burger from here after running an errand. Let me tell you this was one of the best smash burgers I’ve had in a long time. “The big chef” was so kind, so personable and you could really tell he puts all his passion in his craft.
