I passed this place all the time and finally had the opportunity to eat here, we came for brunch. It's very small and displays local artists work and sells it which was cool. The food was not bad, we ordered the salsa & chips and guac for appetizers, they were good but we paid $10 for a small amount of guac. Then we ordered the Mexican breakfast torta which was good, the omelets which was also good, the chocolate chip cornmeal pancakes I didn't like them at all but the others did and, the French toast because it had orange juice marinated bananas, but they didn't come with it and when we asked the server they didn't know that it came with them and then came back to tell us they ran out. It bothered us a lot that we had to inquire and that they didn't notify us and honestly the French toast looked pretty pathetic and the cherries they were talking about were marichino not real cherries lol. Overall it was good but not great.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here earlier this evening as we were looking for a place within walking distance of our Airbnb. We had a great time. We ordered 2 rounds of margaritas ($4 during happy hour) , guacamole, queso fundido w chorizo, 6 tacos, and the tres leches. As you can tell, we sampled a strong portion of the menu, and it was very amicably priced. The guacamole was fresh and delicious. The queso fundido was great and a good portion. The tacos were the best I’ve ever had, and I feel we have pretty good tacos coming from South Florida. My favorite was between the chorizo and the shrimp taco. The tres leches was a great treat to end the meal. As for the staff, they were fantastic. Super attentive and kind. I also want to highlight the manager Marvin who wears a big welcoming smile. I’ll have to visit again next time I’m in DC.

El Camino is a fantastic neighborhood gem, boasting some of the finest steak tacos I've ever tasted in the District. But it's not just the tacos that shine here; their chicken mole is a standout, offering a generous portion bursting with the rich, complex flavors of mole sauce. The inviting "L" shaped bar is always bustling with a few locals, giving it a friendly and approachable vibe. The bartenders are attentive and skilled, ensuring that patrons are well taken care of, and the drinks are not only delicious but also reasonably priced. Additionally, I couldn't help but notice their camino steak dish, which had my mouth watering just looking at it. I can't wait to try it on my next visit! I highly recommend this establishment and look forward to making it a regular hangout.
