Dukes was recommended by quite a few people, our food was good, ice cream was also good. If you're a Affogoto fan, skip it here. I got a coffee cup with what appeared to be a regular coffee with whip cream and caramel. I asked for extra caramel pretty sure I didn't get that either. There was no ice cream in my cup. Not sure what happened with item. A small is actually two scoops and was a bit more ice cream than my two younger kiddos could handle but I'm not complaining about it especially for the 5$ price tag. They were super cool and cut the grilled ham and cheese in half for my two kiddos since the sandwiches and burgers are huge and big enough to share. Tater tots were fried to perfection!

Duke’s is one of the best burger spots in all of the valley! The burgers are juicy and full of exceptional flavor. You can tell that the owner really enjoys what he does. I got the Huli Huli BBQ burger but will be returning to try the “munch burgers”. Duke’s used to be a popular food truck but have since upgraded to a free standing location which now adds ice cream for kids and boozy ice cream for adults. The place is small so be prepared to take food to go or wait for 1 of 2 tables to sit down at.

Spent over $100 on food that was not made as ordered. Husband ordered their classic burger with no grilled onions or tomato and added sautéed mushrooms for an extra $2. Burger came slathered with grilled onions and tomato with no mushrooms. My sister ordered their reubenator and it was burnt. The cowboy fries came with mostly cheese and hardly any fries for $4. Staff told my husband to stand away from the counter while trying to pick up food and ended up getting hit by door. Not worth the money.

What was great: -Their customer service was exceptional. A fun coloring book for kids, and they kindly offered to split the classic burger for my two toddlers. They came out pre-split with a generous portion of fries for each! We ordered the mint shake and they again offered to split it in two cups so they each had a portion of that shake. So considerate.💕 They topped it with generous whipped cream and a fun lil’ swirl on top. The servers checked in routinely and were dynamic with my kids, and were sincere in their kindness and efforts. -Their burgers were the classic American loaded burger with every topping and real cheese option you could want. The bacon was thick and cooked perfectly. The fries were great - there is nothing worse than going to a burger joint with lame fries. The salad lettuce and veggies were fresh and freshly cut. -I didn’t love the first burger option I got, and they very kindly switched it out for me. -I loved all the options for sides and sandwiches/burgers. I can’t wait to go back and try other things!

What wasn’t as great: -The burger patty itself was a touch on the thin side and didn’t have its own flavor. Because of all the dynamic trimmings and freshness, I easily still give their Classic burger a 5/5, but that patty could be taken up a notch to give it a bigger punch and move that word of mouth. The tomatoes all around were pretty orange, but maybe ripe tomatoes up here can be hard to get when buying in bulk. -They watered down the ketchup, and the other dressings weren’t much to speak of. I have gone to restaurants for their great ranch. -The Duke’s burger, to me, wasn’t great. The patties were bland, it was all too greasy, and the sautéed veggies again lacked flavor. -The mint shake was decidedly thin and flat on flavor. It was sugar, so it was fine, but it was nothing to tell a friend about. And when you go to a great burger place you hope for an equally great shake, yu know! -The whole place could benefit from a fresh paint face lift. -It was all a dollar or two too expensive for the every day visit. If they up their shake/patty game though, I would easily pay those prices for it. When you get a burger that thick and messy and scrumptious, you’ll go back again and again! -Was anyone else misled by the restaurant name? Passing by I thought it would be a candy shop, till I looked online and saw burgers.

Overall a great experience and I’ll be back to give other options a try!...

When we first walked in the woman was a tad rude. She just looks at us with an odd look on her face. No greeting. I was with my 3 grandchildren and spouse. My grandchildren are very well behaved. We went to look at the Ice cream case cause thats what we are there for. She asked me if that's ALL we we're there for and NO food. Thought that was an odd question since when you first walk in, it looks like an Ice Cream Parlor. She then took our order and seem not to impressed. She even handed my 5yr old grandson his huge cone and he was having issues grabbing it (I was tending the other 2) then she pointed at the Napkins telling him they were there. While we were sitting there eating our ice cream another family came in to eat there and she was very nice, attentive and full of smiles. Took them back to the dinning area. Not sure what that was all about but, it sure gives you a bad vibe. I follow this place via social media and got the impression it was a great place to go. Not sure about that now. And to add that it was a tad higher up there on the price. But it was very delicious and enjoyed...

The whole vibe of this place is great. Classic counter service setup with friendly and energetic staff. Food is pretty good with nice big portions. However, the bread used for the sandwiches isn't that great. It's not substantial enough for the loaded and messy sandwiches. I feel they could do better. Maybe partner up with a local bakery and have a few options? I've tried several specials, sides, and soups. The fries are always good and crispy and the bacon cheese fries are a great snack for two when you're out running around in Wasilla. One of my favorites there is the tomato bisque. I haven't even tried the ice cream yet but the options look fantastic!

As a life long chef and foodie, I love the place and it's one of the few eateries I've bothered returning to in Wasilla. There is room for improvement, but I feel like they are aware of that and will listen to their patrons. I hope for the best!

Keep it up. It's definitely a great find in a town filled with otherwise mediocre and overpriced...
