Okay service, Watery coffee, mediocre food, no management, terrible policies, astronomical prices. ordered medium eggs Benny w/ corned beef hash and hash browns extra crispy. The hollandaise is from a packet.. enough said. The whites of what should have been medium poached eggs were not cooked let alone the yoke. The hash looked as if it went straight from the can to My plate and was not even slightly warm. My hash browns were cooked on one side but weâre otherwise starchy mush. and my FiancĂŠâs skillet⌠Was swimming in a mysterious brown sauce.. I requested new eggs which came out fairly promptly. but with no hollandaise. bare eggs Benedict.. yum.
at this point Iâve lost my appetite. And my patience and our waitress was no where to be found so we headed up to pay. Our bill was 42$.. please tell me theyâre not actually charging for that light brown coffee??
When I told the lady at the register that I didnât eat my food and why, she called our waitress over as opposed to a manager and our waitress very curtly told me sheâd âpay for my mealâ. Wait, What? the ticket you wrote is correct but because the low grade food is undercooked youâre forced to pay for it? Insane. The lady paying next to me, was also not impressed.
Sorry but, no maâam I actually have morals and youâre not paying for my meal. however this restaurant should have morals as well and if youâre going to serve a substandard product then at least train your cooks well enough to make it presentable.
When i asked for a manager I was told that there is not one and that this place is run by the owner who i hear is very harsh and yells at their employees, apparently making them pay for the meals of dissatisfied customers out of their own pocket?. if thatâs the case then by all means I will pay for the food.. But not because I had to, but because Iâm not going to allow the owner of this restaurant to exploit their employee on my behalf.
we found this place on Google on a whim but we will not be returning. if you want a great breakfast and even better service please, do yourself a favor and go to Denali Family restaurant....
Read moreThe reason for the one star is as follows; I was a waitress for years, so I'm not just some person looking for something to be wrong. I ordered the Senoir Fish and Chips. In its description, it stated that it was lightly breaded. Lightly breaded has always meant (for the most part) a crumb like breading where you can sometimes even see the fish underneath or in between. I received heavily breaded, deep fried, fish fingers or strips and mashed potatoes w/gravy. I ordered French fries. I couldn't even eat my $18.99 heavily breaded fish sticks, and I really tried to. But not only was the breading too thick for me, but the fish, while it didn't taste bad, it didn't taste good either. It was very bland, Halibut. My mother had a stack breakfast it was great. Now the service. They young man who brought us water and drinks was wonderful. The waitress was nice, but that's it. She gave me mashed instead of FF. Easy mistake to fix and would not have resulted in a bad review. However, once we were given our food, NOTHING. Complete radio silence. She never once checked back on us. If she had, maybe something could've been worked out as far as my meal is concerned. As it was, I paid $18.99 for a meal I didn't eat or order for that matter. At least, not the way it was supposed to be. The waitress was like many I worked with. She took orders and brought out food, but isn't a real waitress. Anyone can wait on a table. Only a select few can truly be called waitresses. She was not a waitress. The atmosphere was great. It's the only type of restaurant I worked in. Big or small, they have the same busy, friendly atmosphere. Will I give it a second try, I don't know. I have to drive up from Soldotna to Wasilla every 2 months, so I was really hoping I found a good restaurant to eat at. If I try again, and I'm awarded the same kind of experience, my review will be even more scathing. However, I really loved the atmosphere, and my soup was...
Read moreFor they type of restaurant that it is, I'm giving it 4 đ. This restaurant is way larger then it appears and seems to be a family favorite as it was pretty busy when we arrived and people kept coming in. Having just moved to the area we are eager to find some go to places that satisfy the palet, the tummies and the budget! The menu is pretty substantial. Usually I'll pick from a select few of some old standbys at a new place but this time around, I was having a hard time choosing! My husband and I actually relied on the way pleasant waiter to give us his selections.....he actually listed things that we were debating on so we went with his selections. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak breakfast. I picked the Alaskan burger with a chili side. The chili was really good! The burger though, was disappointing and it solidified that I'm just not impressed with "reindeer sausage". There is zero special about it. There, I said it! The waiter delivered mayo, ketchup and mustard as I soon found that this burger had zero spread on it. So I proceeded to lather it up and 1: the bun is too soft to support not only a patty, but sausage as well. It was too flimsy. 2: cooks should be aware that if a customer is going to have to add their own condiments that it's wise not to use a patty that is not only over charred but missing @ 1/3 of itsself! Now, if the patty had remained tasting burnt and thus dry, it would've been disappointing but the last few bites had that spoiled meat taste. Ick. Trying to remain positive, the coffee was good and plenty, service was great and it did look like their breakfasts would be the reason to go. Honestly, we left with paying less then $40/2....kinda unheard of these days! Despite being disappointed in my particular burger, we will continue to go and try...
