I always pass this place and decided to try them out to get a touch up on my braids. The young woman was kind and honest to advise me that the touch up would be a waste of money because it would not cover the old braids that were unraveling. I told her I appreciate her honesty because she did not have to tell me that. She could have taken my money and rolled with it. She offered to take them down, wash and put new ones back in. I told her that I needed to think about it. Her honestly sold me to want to come back!!
I went home and looked in the mirror and saw what she was talking about. I took my braids out and then scheduled an appointment with Cora to come in and get my braids done.
I went in the next morning and told the stylist prior to getting started my deadline for completion to bring my daughter to her doctor's appointment. She was honest with telling me when she expected to have them done and asked if I wanted to proceed. I advised that was fine. She then told the other stylist that came in to assist with braiding the deadline and they both worked professionally and expeditiously on my hair. When she was braiding, she asked me if it was too tight. WOW... I did not respect that question, because many years I have had my hair braided and no one cared to ask. I told her that it was tight, but a good tight... not a miserable tight and I could manage it. Both Eva and Mana was able to complete my microbraids in a timely manner where I was able to bring my daughter to her doctor's appointment ON TIME.
The entire staff came in greeting everyone. Everyone was extremely polite and kind. I hate I kept passing this place up after knowing this was the type of experience I was going to have. I will go back! I told my friends, associates and family members about this Alliance Braids and thought I write a review and tell you too!
Ms. Cora, Ms. Eva and Ms. Mana Thank you again for that wonderful experience! You...
Read moreDo not bring your children here. Brought my 7 year old here to get her hair braided. The individual I set up my appt through text, informed me they would wash her hair as well. I asked in text, does the price she provided $70 include a wash, she said yes. We get to our 10am appt, they started on her head on time. My daughter had about 10 twisted plaits, which the lady unraveled. The lady then takes a comb brush and from the roots start to comb my daughters hair. no detangler, nothing. My daughter was obliviously in pain, when I walked over to my daughter she had tears coming from eyes! I felt horrible for my daughter to have to endure that. Another stylist then takes my daughter to her chair and says she will blow dry it for me. I’m confused, because why blow dry if you haven’t washed it yet. So I informed her my daughter hair was to be washed, she said that would extra on top of $70. That’s not problem, if I had been told that when I set up the appt. The problem is for starters detangling a child’s hair the way this 1st stylist was doing is completely inhumane. I’ve never seen anyone comb hair the way she did. We normally we don’t go to salons, but decided to give it try. Never again. If the person who set up the appt would’ve told me to wash and detangle my daughters hair, I would’ve done that. But to put a child in your chair and rip and pull her hair….unbelievable. Sidenote: my daughter is not tenderheaded and she cried the whole way home. I would assume, if her hair is tangled, the moral thing to do would be tell the parent, I apologize we can’t braid unless it’s detangled and washed. I would’ve been ok with that. I still can’t believe the way the stylist was combing. I thanked the second lady for her time and we left. My heart aches for adults, who dont have empathy or compassion for children in pain. Not one word of are you ok, not a simple change in...
Read moreFirstly, the place isn’t very inviting. The lady at the front was nice at least. I had called ahead of time and asked if I needed to have my hair washed or anything (since places don’t do that anymore) and was told yes. I was going for passion twists. I had never gotten them before so I look on the website to see if they provided hair or I needed to bring my own. It said to bring my own so I went and got passion twists hair. I wasn’t sure how many packs were needed so I asked the lady at the front desk. She then went to speak to a stylist. After a few minutes she came back and told me the hair I bought was for crotchet passion twists, which I was fine with as looked up pictures while I waited my turn and liked what I saw. When the stylist came over she had a negative energy and I even asked her if I needed more hair and she said no. She was very quick which was definitely appreciated. She let me look at the style and tbh I didn’t like it but once I got home and styled it a little, I liked it. However, it was when I put my hair up that I noticed she should have told me to get another pack as there were patches where no twists were applied. It was extremely obvious too. I was upset that she didn’t even say anything. Also, I didn’t even get a greeting when she came over. She just started blow drying my hair which was already dry to begin with and it make my hair start breaking off because of the extra heat. I was also surprised that no oils or grease were applied to my hair to maintain moisture, especially after blow drying into a brittle state. I’ve dealt with it for the past few weeks since my bf spent money on it, but I just didn’t feel welcomed or...
