Rosa's Café & Tortilla Factory — Restaurant in Watauga

The service was horrible. The young man at the register greeted my wife and I with, " hi what do you want?" We waited 15 minutes until our food was done. Which normally would not bother me but seeing how my wife and I were the only two customers in the store it was kind of odd. Nobody let us know that our food was ready nor do they call our receipt number. As I approach the counter and asked woman working is this my ordered she just gave me a disgusted look and said take it. I get home only to find out our orders are half ass done. My wife ordered the tamale enchilada and tostada plate. I didn't know I was married to a rabbit because her plate was drenched in lettuce. The tamale was buried in the lettuce with the tostada there was hardly any beans very little tomatoes and very little cheese. And the enchilada look like a tortilla just fold it up and slap down covered in sauce with nothing inside of it. I have myself ordered the chicken fajita plate. A $10 play for 3 quarter size chunks of chicken and a bunch of crumbled up pieces. Now I know a lot of people complain and seem to exaggerate on their complaints. This Rosa's is the worst. The last two times I went I have had issues. The first time I ordered a large guacamole. I was charged for a large but received a small. When I brought it to their attention they argued that that was their new large. So I left paying for a large and receiving a small. Then last time. I ordered a large guacamole and it was the actual large, so they were just lying the first time. I also ordered 2 pieces of carrot cake and got none. When I looked at my receipt I was charged for one. I went in since the drive-thru was wrapped around the building. They didn't even say they were sorry for messing up the order. They charged me for another carrot cake and just threw 2 carrot cakes at me with no bag. Also the rest of the food I had ordered was not bagged correctly and the salsa spilt out in my car. I called to talk to the manager about the whole situation and they didn't seem to care. I asked them if they were having a bag shortage. She said no. I told her about being overcharged for the small guacamole the last time. She had nothing to say about that. Then I told her about the carrot cake. She seemed not to care. I stopped by the Rosa's in Watauga on a cold and dreary night, with heavy rainfall. My mood was quickly elevated by the friendly and efficient service I experienced. The food is carefully prepared to order specifications, and almost always waiting at the window after just ordering via speaker. The staff here is always personable and most considerate and efficient. On this night, Amal at the service window took it to another unprecedented level. She remembered me and that I like extra salsa, and included it without prompting. While waiting for a specialty item, Amal included some additional salsa and honey which she knew I liked. This was most refreshing and appreciated. Many of Rosa's competitors, are very stingy with their salsa (if not in a litle packet), and charge high prices for additional salsa. Not only is Rosa's salsa much better than others, but providing it freely as a complement to ordered food is so appreciated. The food is wonderful, particularly the beef fajitas, cheese enchiladas, and anything made with the fabulous homemade flour tortillas.
