Ok first off, I don't usually mess around with writing a review for a fast food place like this. Fast food is so subjective and especially a mexican fast food place in Texas that...well even Taco Bell is open and popular here so what does that tell you about people's palates. That being said, Taco Casa in general, along with a lot of others, is way better than Taco Bell and this particular store in general is why I am writing a review. Now, anybody who has ever graced the drive thru of a Taco Casa and then gone home to get down on the greatness that is Taco Casa knows what's up. This store in particular though by far stands out among the rest not only for their wonderful food but for their service as well. It's the kind of service that even if their food was a little less, I'd probably still come here solely for the service. This store stays so busy that there is almost always a line that can either make its way to the main street or wrap around and have people going out of their way to get in the next spot. No matter how long the line is though, these people are always attentive and polite and answer any question you may have without making you feel like you just asked your teenager to go clean up their room or take out the trash. That being said, I/we tend to have orders that are more than just asking for the item. We are paying for it and we want it how we want it. Nonetheless, with our orders of add this and no that and extra this but none of that and another just like it but with this instead and no that...they come through EVERY TIME. They repeat it back perfectly and if that wasn't enough, we get it home and gladly do not feel like that famous scene from Lethal Weapon with Joe Pesci where we all know what happens in the drive thru. Nope, your order is just as you ordered it and spoken back to you...twice. It's amazing. I can't get a McDonalds or a Taco Bell order right with no substitutions but I come here and rewrite the menu and it comes out perfect, these are the people that deserve a raise, not the other two. Not only does this place have good enough food that we go out of our way to come here but the service and correctness of this place is a testament to the hiring and management as well. Starting off with the right attitude makes all the difference. Definitely worth a detour. I'll tell you lastly how you know this place rocks, they don't even need a delivery service. People, including us, will get out to go to this place. Something to be said in today's...

I don’t know if it was the staff on a Sunday afternoon or if this place is going down hill in general. The guy on the speaker was great and even asked how many taco sauces I wanted. I do hate to waste them when they give me too many. I said 6. I ordered a Super Taco and a Super Tostada. It was $9.71. I was afraid it might be a problem but I went ahead and gave the cashier two $5 bills and 1 penny. He tried to give me $10 and 30 cents back. I said no I only gave you two $5’s. It took a minute then he gave me a dollar back. I said I think you only owe me this 30 cents. He still looked confused so I said it’s ok and left as the line was getting longer. I should have known something was up when my bag didn’t weigh much. Got home which did take 15 mins due to a train but I went straight in to eat and the tostada shell was total mush which may be because of the time in the car but there was NO CHEESE and about 1/2 cup of tomatoes and it was the size of a regular tostada! I love Taco Casa because they use so much cheese! This thing costs almost $5. The super taco shell was so stale and rubbery I could hardly bite thru it, like when tortilla shells are left out in humidity. And lastly, not 1 taco sauce! I have to have their taco sauce on my food. I had 1 stashed in my fridge but that wasn’t nearly enough. So the cashier thought I gave him a $20 obviously and the receipt said change was $10.30 but then when I gave him the $10 back, I’ll never understand the $1 back. I have a picture but I don’t see where...

I hate to be the one to say it...but this location has gone downhill over the years. Or maybe when I was a teenager I just didn't notice....🤷‍♀️ Every time my family orders food from here they leave items out and /or make mistakes on modifications. It wouldn't be a huge issue if it wasn't EVERY SINGLE TIME. This visit my sister ordered to feed myself, and her children, and self--made it all the way home after a long day at work, had children sat down (and believe it or not behaving) for dinner....and they left out the 5 year olds tacos 🤦‍♀️ not to mention the 3 items with missing toppings and incorrect modifications. Brittany was very nice and replaced the order....but that's beside the point...this happens OFTEN. Last time, right at close and when my sister called to report it, they put her name down but when she returned the following day she has misplaced the receipt (we all know it happens to the best of us...who keeps paper copies when we have banking apps??)and was told that they couldn't replace it without the receipt and even after offering to pull the transaction with time on her records was declined.... delicious food....nice people....I get it that they hire teenagers to do this job, but I was a teenager doing this job at one point too....Slow down kids....I'd rather wait 2 more minutes in your drive through... for you to make the taco correctly and make sure it gets IN THE BAG....than deal with the wrath of a mama bear when she's got picky hungry cubs at home and missed...

The family and I stopped in for some tacos. We didn’t feel like Taco Bell or Taco Bueno… I’m glad we stopped in this classic spot. The main takeaway of this experience was how clean the restaurant was/is. All counters were wiped, the napkin/utensil/condiment bar was spotless and stocked. The food behind the counter was on full display and looking fresh. The trash can to dispose your trash was clean! The restrooms were both clean and useable! My 4 year old had to use the bathroom and the commode was exceptionally clean! How refreshing to eat at a clean, well maintained fast food restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. We aren’t big Taco Casa people, but this place just won us over. We love the 70s vibe of the restaurant. It is a little bizarre sitting in the red/yellow/orange restaurant. It’s unlike any place you’ll eat at. It felt like we were on a road trip and stopped off late at night to grab some tacos in the middle of New Mexico. All the lights were working Ceiling tiles clean Air conditioning fully functioning Bathrooms had paper towels and hand dryers Stocked toilet paper in updated dispensers Faucets worked! Staff was attentive Food was made and served very fast The manager was on duty making tacos for the drive through. (I spoke to him and complimented his restaurant) This is the way fast food restaurants should look and operate. Tacos are affordable! My 2 and 4 year old loved the bean burrito. It wasn’t too spicy for them. They really like it. Huge win!

Great helpful and friendly staff, great positive attitude I was greeted with from redhead female(didn't get name) at counter, and stated how much i enjoy their chiladas, and the sauce, other employee at counter gave me extra sauce, and it's nice to have complimentary drink also, specially since I was walking in the heat...very clean and following safety guidelines, never have had any complaints bout them and never disappointed with chiladas!!

This is the brand new location for Taco Casa in Wautaga. It has moved across the street to 6420 Wautaga Rd. It has two drive thru lanes which helps with the Taco Tuesday traffic jam. It has two entrances off of Wautaga Rd. Prices have gone up slightly but might be worth it due to time saved waiting in line on Tuesdays. Online ordering coming soon!
