Customer service here is hit or miss. Certain staff who shall go unnamed are either helpful, or the most useless people I've come across.
I heard about a restock at the Gamestop, see a long line of excited Pokemon fans. Hope they got new Switch 2's in there and sit in a line for over an hour. They obviously run out, scalpers took the stuff early on because the scalpers asked for relatives to come in and help them buy out the product circumventing the rule of limit X per person.
I go in and purchased the Switch 2. Staff tells me about warranty. Staff does not go on to tell me that the PRP "add-on" is what covers damage to the screen (What I am worried about and would ABSOLUTELY BUY due to the horror stories of the Switch 2). I buy warranty because I heard screen is fragile. After paying, staff informs me that they have a free screen with the Gamestop warranty, but since I already paid, I no longer qualify for it as it needs to be added during the sale. WTH is this customer service?!?
I go on to joke that I could just refund the purchase I JUST MADE and then ask for the warranty + screen protector. They laugh at me, straight in the face. I had my younger brother reserve my spot in line as I was at work and didn't want him to waste his morning just to not get this Switch 2. I'm too tired to deal with this BS on my lunch break and just want my Switch 2 so mentally flip off the staff, take the Switch 2, and leave.
Switch 2 got scratched 2 days ago. Find out that the screen film is made of paper (as expected), because even plastic is tougher than this. I can't get a free repair because the warranty is basically just an extended warranty and convenience.
If I had known the warranty was completely useless, I would've just forgone it completely. Now I need to pay god knows how much to fix a screen after paying a ridiculous price tag and Gamestop won't help me. I've been frequenting this Gamestop for over a decade now, close to 2 decades, on occasion.
Recent experiences have left me feeling the store policy is just a scam at this point. Staff are condescending and outright anti-consumer. Unless you're trying to get in on Pokemon TCG or something, don't bother coming...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has to be the absolute worst Gamestop in the entire DFW metroplex. Chuck whom I've encountered twice is the most absolute rudest and useless employee and if he is in fact the manager, that is an indictment on the entire company. The first time I encountered Chuck I asked for help searching for an item and when I thought he was searching for it in the computer turns out I was getting completely ignored while he helped someone else who came in after me. Then just a few minutes ago, I tried to give this Gamestop another chance only to stand around and get ignored while Chuck assisted literally everyone else in the store. Unless you are just totally desperate completely avoid this Gamestop...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChuck, store manager at store #1607 in Watagua TX, deserves so many kudos. Chuck always goes above and beyond when my nine year old son comes in to look at Pokemon cards. He takes time to talk to him and shot the breeze about gaming and cards. He literally talks about how nice the āman at Game Stopā is. Iāve always noticed as well how he treats his employees, with respect. Heās what you want as a store manager as my son always wants to come back, which unfortunately for our pocketbook creates more profits for your store. 𤣠They recently hosted a PokĆ©mon trade and play day on Sunday 1/28/2024, which allowed for my son to interact with other collectors, in which he...
