Aurora Diner — Restaurant in Waterbury

The chocolate chip pancakes were so light and super fluffy, so good and as big as my plate. The shredded hashbrowns were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Ordered a side order of sausage patties and received 3! Anywhere else I've been I've only received 2. The spices in the patties was very good. The boomerang special was delicious!! It was hash covered with layers of shredded hashbrowns, cheese, bacon pieces, grilled onions and topped with 2 eggs cooked any way you want. It also comes with a side of toast. So yummy! Service was excellent, arrived quickly and cooked exactly right. Definitely will go again and soon! 9/17/23 update... food was delicious as always! We dug in too quickly for me to take pictures! Had cream cheese stuffed French toast, cooked perfectly and they put the cream cheese on the side which I love! My son had an Angus bacon cheeseburger with a side of gravy & cheese fries. Unbelievable! Their gravy is so good and they don't skimp on the cheese. Or their portions! Can't recommend it...

My boyfriend and I came here for a late breakfast. It was our first time dining here, we’re trying to find a diner we like. There wasn’t too many people inside which was nice since we would like to social distance as much as we can. I ordered a Belgium waffle, hash browns and bacon. The portion size was large and it tasted great. My boyfriend ordered over-medium eggs, hash browns, toast, bacon and sausage. He said the eggs for overcooked and the sausage was “okay”. We both really like the hash browns. Our pleasant experience turned into a not so pleasant one when I’m assuming one of the managers (Caucasian, blonde hair) was setting tables without a mask on right near us. There was also a young server that wore her mask below her nose and for that we will not be going back to Aurora diner. Never thought that I was gonna write this about this diner. I’ve been living in Waterbury for over 20 years and I loved their food. I loved the atmosphere they had before, I stopped by with my toddler the other day and I use the bathroom I wasn’t gonna buy anything because it was just a quick stop. I was called out loud at the parking lot Telling me that I shouldn’t use the bathroom if I’m not purchasing something so my I said OK I’m sorry and my husband went inside and bought a muffin to use the bathroom because my toddler, five years old had to use the bathroom. Kids Don’t know what it means when you tell them to hold on to use the bathroom and that was the answer from someone that is also a mother coming out of the restaurant yelling at me at the parking lot like I steal something from them.
