Tonight we had an excellent supper. My one true love and I started by sharing an order of calamari with hot peppers and gorgonzola. It comes with a very good marinara sauce on the side. I tasted the calamari before drizzling some marinara on it. It was done perfectly. We each had a cup of their delicious pasta fagioli. As entrées she had Paglia e Fieno (translation: hay and straw - some of the pasta noodles are green, and some yellow) which is spinach and egg pasta with peas and prosciutto in a creamy Alfredo sauce. I had veal and shrimp piccata, one of the evening's specials. Time had definitely been taken to prepare the veal. The dish was delicious. I also had a garden salad with a very good house made peppercorn dressing. We accompanied our meal with a Ruffino Superiore chianti. We finished with dessert. She had bomba, which is chocolate and vanilla Gelato made into a ball, and covered with a hard chocolate shell. I had cheesecake brulee and an espresso with Sambuca. We don't go all out like this every time we come in, but it's nice to know you can be extravagant if you want to. Have a look at the menu. The price is always reasonable for all of the many dishes. I can't praise our waiter Nico enough. He took very good care of us, and was at the table often. We ask for him...
Read moreFood here was really great, and our server Nico was wonderful. Glad we make reservations because it was busy on Saturday. I’m sad to only give three stars, but it’s only because the hostess who seated us seemed very overwhelmed, and came off a bit rude. Our table was not ideal; it was literally RIGHT next to a swinging door, that was opening, closing, swinging all throughout our dinner, and the vestibule door to the outside was wide open. I was freezing sitting there, other patrons were constantly peeking thru the door while waiting. It was very awkward and distracting and not comfortable. They were also using the table next to us to place takeout orders on... in my opinion, they should switch the take out table to the one we were sitting at, and just space out the one next to it more, so people don’t have to sit right next to a constantly swinging door. It ruins the experience to be so uncomfortable during an otherwise great dinner. We didn’t ask to move because due to Covid seating arrangements, we didn’t want to make someone else lose out on their time and table. Based on this experience, we most likely...
Read moreCame in last night for a date night because we had a gift card and figured we’d use it. Had the fried mozz and penne alla vodka. The food was actually good, especially for the price. Price point was actually cheaper than most other italian style restaurants we normally go to. Sitting at the bar and the First drink took about 10-15 mins to get. Got the bill for $125 and we had a $100 gift card with $43 remaining on it. About 10 mins go by and were told that they were having trouble charging the gift card. Something about their internet wasnt working and the bartender also told us they dont really see actually card gift cards anymore just paper gift certificates. A lady eventually came over and said it couldnt be used because the internet wasnt working yet it worked just fine to charge my credit card. The gift card had the balance written on it and when I looked up the balance online it was available to see. Worked in the restaurant business for almost 20 yrs, I would have just accepted the card as is without ringing it up(if that really was the problem). Most likely will...
