New to the area and today was our third time eating at this location. The previous two times were great, with absolutely no complaints. Today we had a really disappointing experience. Our server wasn’t exactly friendly to begin with, but that wasn’t entirely the issue. My husband and I waited 40 minutes for our breakfast just to receive it absolutely cold - except for my eggs, which we were advised were being “finished” when the rest of our food was brought. When I say cold, I mean COLD. I am not one to complain about food unless it’s truly called for. Hash browns felt like they were out of a refrigerator. The two pieces of American cheese on my husband’s omelette weren’t even slightly melted because they were put on such a cold omelet (we watched our server and another server use a knife to put the cheese on it as it sat in the kitchen window because we were the second table away from the window next to the wall). Toast, pancakes & bacon were all room temperature, not even slightly warm. It was very obvious our server forgot about us and our food sitting in the kitchen window (several of her tables that ordered after us sitting around us got their food before us). I will say, there were a rush of people after we ordered and it did get pretty busy. I can acknowledge that. However, when we brought to our servers attention that all of our food was cold and pointed to the unmelted sliced cheese from my husbands omelette, she literally just mumbled “oh my god” and just turned & walked away…. We could not believe this. All we expected was an apology and perhaps the offer to remake our food (which we would have declined because we were so hungry). Never received an apology. Instead she eventually came back with our bill and said she applied a “discount.” The discount was the “senior discount” and took $3 off lol. This felt like a slap in the face honestly. Plus we didn’t ask for a discount, nor did we want one. We just wanted an apology. Truly cannot believe how that server responded to us or handled the situation. I’m sure we will be back, but I will never sit in this servers...
Read moreNow 5 Yr Anniversary (2018) of DISCRIMINATION & REFUSED SERVICE on Mother's Day! Owner Jim still deny incident ever happening & continues to Double down refusing to atleast apologize for his staff's prejudice behavior towards me & my daughter. Leo's corp office did apologize in 2018, got my info & passed it along to Jim. I also went to his other Leo's down the street & left my name & number. Of course No Response back. Being the liar & denialist he is, Jim will say I never contacted him just like he posted in a previous yr review response. FIVE YRS & Still Lieing & Denying!! We sat for AN HOUR ignored while others were served!! The staff scorned us & scuffed at us for complaining. Each yr on Mother's Day, my daughter & I are reminded of the HORRIBLE treatment we received at Leo's Coney owned by this Jim. What's worst is this guys constant denial of incident ever happening. What kind of person is this? It's obvious he condones this behavior. Why would anyone want to patronize this place? Owner Jim had the audacity to respond to the 4 yr DISCRIMINATORY service refusal review by not only denying the incident ever happen but said , " Thanks for coming back". COMING BACK? ...TO WHERE? We would NEVER STEP FOOT AGAIN in your DISCRIMINATORY PRACTICE restaurant!! Below are previous anniversary reviews.
4 year anniversary of Mother's Day 2018 DISCRIMINATION! I WILL NEVER FORGET!! Mother's Day was destroyed by Leo's staff ignoring me & my daughter, refusing to serve us. We sat for an hour and watch everyone else get served. The staff scuffed at us when we complained. At 1st they refuse to give owner's name. An official complaint was filed with corporate headquarters. Owner NEVER contacted me. He lied in 2019 ( 1 yr anniversary of incident). Trying to say incident didn't happen. STILL to this day....NO apologies. Well what do you expect from a person who allows customer discrimination. PUBLIC NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT Leo's coney in Waterford. He has a location in White Lake also. Discrimination is his practice...
Read moreWe came in today to meet an old friend for lunch. We have been to the Leo's in Clarkston and have always been met with friendly faces and good food.. Here at the Waterford location we encountered a doom & gloom atmosphere. If someone died, honestly please close the restaurant doors for a day and let the staff grieve... If that's not the case, oh myyyy, and You have bigger issues on your hands.. No one smiled, not once! The wait staff acted like parasites were controlling them, robotic, meek, lacked emotion. There Was No Joy and there Was No Love in neither the service nor the food, just miserably long faces. It was bland, all of it, everything that was brought to our table was prepared with No seasoning, No flavor, NO Love... Despite our unhappiness we still did tip well, just in case there was a sad event that had occurred AND was the reason for the depressing, miserable mood because someone's livelihood shouldn't be on the line because the owner didn't want to take care of his/her employees. Either way the owners need to Do Better! Be more present and know what's happening out on the floor and with your workers. Support your employees because they are the backbone of your restaurant... For us, We will NOT Ever be returning to this particular location..
*Update: The owner replied in a cheeky manner, stating our server has a medical condition that causes her the inability to smile. We whole heartedly, certainly do wish her the best with that. But it is still no excuse for the rest of it. It Absolutely costs nothing to be cordial. Food is your business and should be made & served with some level of...
