I think at this point we're all in agreement that "Chinese" food is basically just "American" food prepared by Chinese people.
That being said, I like Chinese food, a lot. I'm not saying I eat it every week, but when I do eat it, I'm pretty fussy about it. I've blacklisted numerous Chinese places in the area for nothing more than a soggy rangoon, or a mushy noodle. One of the great things about this place is their ability to keep everything consistent, every time. With a buffet of this size, it has to be a challenge to keep everything on point, but they pull it off, every time.
The buffet is expansive, and has just about every type of Chinese food that you can imagine. I can confidently say that I've tried 90% of it and never hated anything. I'm admittedly about 80% various meats most of the time, and not heavy into anything with seafood or veggies or anything, but I do make it a point to taste stuff...simply because it's a buffet. And everything has always tasted good.
That being said, listen people...I shouldn't have to tell you to NOT eat Sushi at a Buffet, but I'm going to anyway. Don't eat the Sushi. If that's your thing, go across the street to Sakura. On the flip side though, the Hibachi service here is actually pretty awesome and a cool way to get that Hibachi feel without the whole rigmarole of sitting in a Hibachi place. But again, if you're totally into that, go across the street.
If you're looking for a solid Chinese food take out or buffet experience, this place will not disappoint. Prices are more than reasonable, service is on point, and the food is exactly what you'd expect. If you're one of those snobby, arrogant American's that has "toured" China and "knows" "real" Chinese food, then you'll probably be disappointed. Which is okay, because you're probably a terrible...
Read moreIt is your typical all you can eat chinese place, nice hibachi, not much dessert choice as other places I've been to. Was affordable. The thing I hated, though, was I felt uncomfortable with the waitress. She gave us our bill and hovered over us as we were eating, not finished yet. My husband put his card down just to get her away from us because we just knew how much money hungry she was getting. As soon as he put it down, he couldn't count to 10 seconds, she snatches it up. After she gives us back the bill, we're still eating, and again, she hovers over us. We fill out the paper and sign, and he puts the bill next to him against the wall so we can set it out when we leave. She comes over as soon as he places it at the end twords the wall and she walks over reaches across the table pushing our drinks to snatch just the receipt to look at her tip and stands at the end just looking at us dirty like. Then she just walks away. Seriously, you almost knocked out drinks over putting almost your armpit in my food to get a look at the money we left for a tip. Very greedy Because of that, I really wanted to take paper back and cross the tip and tell her she did not deserve it.
Updating my review after a few years; the place is the same. However, the staff has become a little more friendly. The food is still just okay. I still like the...
Read moreFood is amazing, love coming here. The people they hire could definitely be better though. Went in last night with my friend, we are both 16. We were seated and our server was a blonde girl who looked no older than 20, took our drink orders and we got food. As soon as we sat down with a second plate she came over and asked if we were done, mind you we have only been there a max of 20 minutes (including wait time). Soon my friend finished her drink (water) and we needed a refill, our waitress sat a table, cleaned off a table, gave other people checks, took other peoples plates, and STILL we did not get a refill. She was talking with another waitress as I finally flagged her down and I asked “can we get refills?” And she looked at me like I was crazy so I added “On the water?”. She finally takes out glasses and brings back the. Same. Ones. With the straws still in them, no new glass, no new straw. Nothing. We waited around 20-25 minutes to get a refill on WATERS! We finally ask for the bill around 5 minutes later, she looked surprised when I tipped, I even tipped over 10% which is over what was deserved. I don’t know if it was because we were teenagers so she thought we wouldn’t tip but rudely asking us if we were done when we had been seated for 10 minutes and then no refills is a little...
