I wouldn't have posted this outside of Facebook but since I got banned from a Facebook page for this review I am posting it here because I think it's fair and honest
I'm going to preface this by saying This was essentially the first day they were open The owner seems very nice and offered to make things right
I'm posting this as my personal experience and constructive criticism should never cause you to be banned from a Facebook page (note: the restaurant and owners had nothing to do with me being banned and were nothing but respectful to me)
Here's the review
Went to try out Xrispy chix today. Pretty busy although not as busy as expected. I ordered
2 tender and fries meal 12.99 plus 1.00 for cheese on fries Milkshake 6.99 Large Mac and cheese 6.99
Total came to just over $30
The tenders were pretty good although definitely not crispy. The fries were very good however they asked if I wanted cheese on them so I said yes, however they put the cheese on my chicken instead which is definitely not something I would ask for. Chicken came on a piece of untoasted white bread which was soggy from pickle juice and the chicken being on it. Definitely would suggest they toast the bread. I got the nash spice level and wasn't crazy about the flavor of the seasoning so probably wouldn't get that again. The chix sauce was very good however. Would probably get unseasoned chicken next time and just dip in sauce. Score: 5/10
Chocolate milkshake: they use big dipper ice cream. The shake was fine but very thin. For 6.99 they could probably use another scoop of ice cream to thicken it up. Score: 6/10
Atmosphere: 6/10 again this was fine they have an amazing mural and the chairs were very sturdy and the building is roomy.
Mac and cheese: I had to go back and ask for this as they initially forgot it but it was busy so that's fine. Told them I got the large Mac and cheese and the went and handed me one, however I'm pretty sure they gave me regular not large as it was pretty small, but again they were busy so wasn't going to make a fuss about it. The Mac and cheese itself was ok but reminded me of Stouffer's Mac and cheese. Definitely not worth 7 dollars. Score: 4/10
Overall experience 4/10 meaning slightly below average.
Again this was my experience and I'm sure others had better experiences. I wouldn't be in a rush to go back although I'd like to try their regular bone in fried chicken some time as it...
Read moreHands down the best experience we’ve had at XRISPY CHIX in Watertown! My son absolutely loved his wings – he couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. The chicken was beyond delicious: perfectly crispy on the outside, unbelievably tender and juicy on the inside. You can tell they put real care into their food.
The flavors were spot on, and it’s officially our new favorite spot for wings and fried chicken. The vibe inside is fun and welcoming, and the staff made sure everything was perfect.
And the best part? They’re now open on Sundays from 12 to 6, which makes it even easier for families like ours to enjoy a weekend meal together. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out – XRISPY CHIX truly lives up...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place. Seemed like a great idea. The chicken we got was cooked ok but it was bland. On the menu it shows selecting your heat level but that does not apply to the fried chicken, only sandwiches. Correction: they were not out of mashed potatoes, they were out of wedges so I got fries. The fries were soggy and had too much of whatever spice they use on them. The chicken tenders though were really good. Would love to see some additional sides. Baked beans or potato salad. I will give them another try after they have been open longer but right now the fried chicken across the street at the grocery store is better. Thanks to the owner for reply. Will try...
