I've been here a few times now, and it hasn't gone well on any of them. This last time kind of makes me not want to come again. The staffing levels weren't up to the number of guests. Maybe it was just a freak incident that they got overwhelmed for the number of workers? Or maybe someone called out? I ordered a burger. I didn't realize there were bread options, wasn't asked by the server, so she just put me in for an Italian roll. Gotta say, not my first choice, and it ended up being some sad little Italian sub roll burger affair. You are stuck with chips. They won't sub fries. I think they don't want to sell fries. They were out of several items on the menu. My waitress had to come out to apologize that an entree was out of stock and get a replacement order. The food one of my party ordered was burnt. I had waited so long there was no point to send it back because who knows how long it would have taken for replacement. But maybe burnt is the style? Just check out the picture and judge for yourself. The inside is warm urban decor, so it has a nice atmosphere that's enjoyable to eat in. The bathroom was clean. There were several large televisions that I imagine play sports sometimes. Full bar is nice. I dunno. I'm not sure what's going with this place. It has promise , but I've had a few experiences that make it hard to go back.

I was in the area for the week visiting some family and decided to take a solo trip out for lunch on Tuesday afternoon. I looked up local places to eat and found Portland Pie Co. I sat at the bar to enjoy a drink and grab some food, and had the pleasure of being served by Sophia. She was super kind and friendly, and really attentive during the entirety of my visit, despite also managing multiple other tables at once. I took a while to figure out what I wanted to eat, and when I asked for suggestions between appetizers I was choosing, she recommended me the spinach artichoke dip which was incredible! And I normally would order a meal too but the spinach artichoke dip was so filling I could barely finish it. Definitely recommend coming here if you’re local or just passing through the area. If I ever come back this way I’ll be excited to stop here for lunch or dinner again.

Parents of diapered babies beware. There is no diaper changing station in the males restroom, so I had to change the baby in the women's restroom. The changing station is wooden, such as one that you would place in a nursery that would have a weight limit. Not one of the plastic ones such as one that you would find at Walmart or other restaurants. Unsure what the weight limit would be and how that may limit other parents. Luckily I have a 12 week old so it did not limit me. The food was delicious and catered to my dietary restrictions of a gluten allergy. The service was subpar but we were seat right before a large party and our service declined as soon as the large party was seated.

Service and experience has gone down hill in recent months, but my experience today has me resolving to not give my business to Portland Pie Company Waterville any longer. I am a frequent customer, and have ordered 1-2 times a week since this branch of PPC opened in town.

I placed an order online three hours in advance, and arrived on time to pick the order up. After the hostess served a family who arrived after me, despite seeing me in line and waiting, I was told that it would take another 10-15 minutes.

I waited 15 minutes before returning and was told that my order was not in the system.

I showed my order receipt and was then told my order just appeared in the system, implying I’d have to wait an indeterminate amount of time to get my order.

I did request the manager, so that a refund could be issued and the vibe I received was that I was being unreasonable in not understanding the system failure. Had there been another resolution offered - such as getting the order for free or at a discount, or having it delivered to me as opposed to having to continue to wait in the restaurant, maybe that would have salvaged the experience. That did not happen, and because of that - my family and I will take our...

My husband and I have been coming here since the soft open and were pleased with the food, the atmosphere and the professionalism for years. We have been coming here since the opening, but have come less and less over the past couple years since the professional has declined. In any well respected establishment, the staff should have some sort of uniform. In the past, the staff all used to wear T shirts that had the Portland Pie logo with clever sayings on the back, and I think they even sold the shirts at the bar. Today, we walked in and not one member of the staff was in any kind of uniform .The worst was a girl who was sitting at the bar on her phone most of the time, wearing cut off shorts and a hoodie that had some cowboy logo on the back. We literally thought she was a customer until she looked up from her phone long enough to give some people menus. Meanwhile, there was plenty for her to do but no manager in sight (who should be visible and also wearing the uniform) Our waitress was nice and the pizza was great, but this lack of consistency and professionalism is going to...
