The 3 of us split a 3 meat platter -- a bit over $50, with cokes, which isn't bad for 3. The wings were excellent -- juicy, with a bit of a spice rub. I opted for the Jamaica jerk sauce, which was sweet and spicy. The ribs were very good, tender and well smoked, but not fall-off-the-bone overcooked. The brisket was fatty -- probably excellent if you like fatty brisket (but we should have asked for lean, as we don't). The slaw had cayenne in it, and a good assortment of veg, not cut too fine, giving it a nice crunch. The cornbread was very good, with corn and jalapenos, and a good carmelized crust. Our final side was mac'n'cheese, which was nice and thick, with a bit of pepper and a great cheesey sauce. The guys running things were very nice. The place is small -- it's obviously a food truck that went brick'n'mortar, and you really get that personal feel. I'll note we went at a down time; it could get crowded quickly. Our only complaints were that the bathroom door sticks (humidity), and the air conditioner wasn't quite able to keep up, but the door was open. Highly recommend if you're in the Waterville area and...
Read moreYUM. Let me just say, putting their smoker right next to the road is SMART. I went by on my way to an appointment today and saw the smoker doing its thing. I decided I had to try it. When I went in to pick up the Humungus Pizza and Pulled Pork Royale Mac and Cheese that I ordered for pick up, another customer was in there for the same reason...saw the smoker going! The pizza (generously topped), and the mac and cheese (smothered in extra cheese on top of the pulled pork) were both HUGE, very reasonably priced, and delicious. And the staff were super friendly, while working efficiently to make our orders at the same time. It was obvious that they enjoy their jobs and take pride in the product. I will be back when I am up...
Read moreFirst time ordering and eating from The Gouda Boys. I decided to go all out and order a bunch of different things that would last me a few days. I got a Gouda Mac and cheese, 10 smoked wings in Thai chili sauce, a Walker Texas ranger, and a BBQ chicken sando. The Mac and cheese was out of this world, and I still got a bunch left. For 8 bucks, they give you a lot. The wings were the best I've ever had in my life, and I only had about 4 and got 6 left. The BBQ chicken sando was amazing, and I still have not had the Walker Texas Ranger, which is a smash burger with two patties. 3 of the 4 things I got came with incredible hand cut fries. The Gouda Boys are killing it. Unbelievable quality food. Will be...
