Whole experience was not great. Food tasted reheated and/or stale. Overpriced for what was received!
When we walked in, we were immediately hit with the strong smell of cleaner instead of food. Ordered Chicken Fajitas and asked for no bell peppers because I’m deathly allergic and that did not seem to be an issue. Also ordered chips and salsa and two Mexican cokes. Chips and salsa arrived right away, which was great, but the chips were chewy and stale (like they had been stored and re-fried more than once?) and the salsa tasted good but was watery like soup. My chicken fajitas had bell peppers in them so I asked our server to please take it back and she argued with me that they were not bell peppers and I tried to explain that I did not want to die on them since I know they are red and green bell peppers… so she reluctantly took it back.
The new order came and the chicken was very tough, but the rice and beans were good. The shredded lettuce that came on the plate was wilted. My husband had the Tampiquena and he said it was just ok, was lacking seasoning but said the same - that the rice and beans were great. We paid $48 for a very so-so dinner and a staff that didn’t seem to want to be there. Had really high hopes based on all the good reviews but...

UPDATE: Went in today and on the cash register tape machine, in English, is a sign that says
"A $3.99 service fee will be charged on all store sales".
What?
#1 With everything in English and Spanish, why not this sign? Hmmmmmm...
#2 This is not disclosed anywhere on the menu, website, or to the customer other than this sign.
#3 Questionable legality.
#4 Service fee for what? To cook my food? Ok, let me back there I'll cook it.
#5 For the person ringing up the food? Fine I'll ring myself through...
Rather than raise prices like everyone else has to do right now you try to pull a "trick" on your customers with this? If you raise your prices customers can compare one place to another and make a educated price decision. Not telling them about the fee until they are standing at the counter to pick up your food is extremely shady, underhanded behavour and a great method to lose customers during a RECESSION.
Disappointed to say the least as I like their food... but I won't be eating there ever again. Fortunately there are other places nearby.
This is how businesses...
Read moreI found out this new place just opened in town, so my partner and I stopped by to have dinner here in the evening around 8pm. They were mildly busy, but took our orders pretty quick at the register. My partner ordered the quesadilla dinner and pop, and I had the queen size burrito dinner and horchata. They gave us a table number card, we picked up some hot sauce bottles from the cooler beverage fridge on our way to our table, the dining area was gorgeous looking and clean, and we sat at a booth table. Our food came to us within 10 minutes or so, I realized they only gave me the queen burrito only, so I let the server know that they forgot the rice and beans that come with the dinner and horchata. The server promptly came back with the sides and drink within 5 minutes or so, and all was set! My partner enjoyed his quesadilla dinner very much and I enjoyed my my steak burrito dinner as well, and the horchata was great! I even forgot to take photos of the food because I was so hungry, but I did get a photo of the beautiful dining area. Delicious food and great prices! I would definitely eat here again, I'm very...
