Burger King — Restaurant in Waukegan

Just went to this location (8/5/2023 — 12 pm noon), and very quickly regretted our decision. The gentleman taking our order was extremely inattentive, did not seem to listen or understand what we were ordering. My husband ordered an original crispy chicken meal with a diet root beer, but instead received a mushy FISH sandwich and a regular root beer. The boy did not relay to us they did not have diet root beer, and went ahead and gave my husband and myself regular root beer. What if we were diabetic? My husband was pleased to see the jalapeño cheddar bites on the menu, so he ordered some but was told they don’t carry that item (it was plastered on the menu). The food was cold, we waited 15 minutes behind ONE car for our order — the place was not busy at all to justify the service and wait time. Overall, it was a terrible experience. Staff needs to be trained and more attentive to customers orders. I don’t know how they could screw up this bad with only one car ahead of us and an empty lobby. Absolutely ridiculous. THE BURGER KING ON LEWIS AVE, IN WAUKEGAN HAS VERY POOR MANAGEMENT, SERVICE AND FOOD QUALITY. I PULLED UP AT DRIVE THROUGH AND WAS TOLD I HAVE TO COME IN. NO PROBLEM, HOWEVER- THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND ME. I DRIVE AROUND , GO INSIDE, AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW- THEY WERE PLACING THEIR ORDER AT THE DRIVE THRU WINDOW. THEN, I PLACE PLACE MY ORDER: 10 PIECE NUGET ( $1.00 ) AND A VALUE FRY ( 1.49 ) THE MANAGER TELLS ME $3.26 I HAD TO LITERALLY GO BACK THRU THE DRIVE THRU TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE ADVERTISING DISPLAY PRICE. THENHE BEGAN HAVING A LOUD DISAGREEMENT WITH ANOTHER CUSTOMER BECAUSE HER FRIES WERE COLD. WHEN SHE REFUSED THEM, HE ATTEMPTED TO PUT THEM IN MY BAG. I REFUSED THEM AS WELL. I go to BK because they have the French Toast Sticks that I love! The dining room is never crowded Bur many of the tables have not been cleaned. That is the BK on N. Lewis in Waukegan, IL The BK on Belvidere in Waukegan is great. So is the one outside of the shopping center on Geen Bay Rd. In Waukegan. Neither of the BKs in the Food Courts inside Gurnee Mills Mall has ANY breakfast items because (I was told) that it would take away business from the free-standing BK in the parking lot of that mall. That didn't stop McDonald's from having a full menu when they had 2 in the food court and a free-standing restaurant.
