Today I decided to try the food at JJ Fish and Chicken, and got salmon fish and chips. I left the restaurant only to get home and see that I didn't get salmon, but whiting or some other type of fish very similar to whiting. I've had both salmon and whiting often enough to know the difference with look, taste, texture, etc.
I called them to explain, almost certain that it was a mix up with someone else's order. When the guy answered and I explained that I got the wrong fish, he immediately got argumentative and stated "ma'am, I sell fish, I know for a fact it's salmon I gave you." He then started to describe the length and color of the fish he gave me. What's weird is that I didn't even say who I was but he know from the jump.
I would have respected him and the establishment if they told me from the beginning they were out of salmon or even after the fact if he apologized for giving me the wrong thing. But clearly they knew what they were doing and simply intend to con customers with the hope that no one would notice or say anything!! Needless to say they would not be getting my business. Best of luck in your business with...
Read moreFirst time going, I ordered catfish tails. They taste like they had been cooked in old grease. The taste was really disturbing and terrible. It looked like old fish versus fresh fish. I am a fish cooker. The skin was soggy (wet like) and was coming off my fish as I tried to eat it. I prefer my fish fried crunchy. Then two, I was asked by the manager, or owner, not sure who he was, if I wanted to taste the macaroni before I bought it. He put it in a regular container for me to taste (why), then when I took a bite, he goes to the register and say 2.79, whhhhhhat, you was the one who volunteered a taste test. Then you was the one who put it in that container. SMH! Why did I have to pay for something you said I could taste? And, why would you put a taster in a regular container. Confused? That was just not right. If you offer a TASTE, then let it just be a TASTE. A real business man, would have never done that over a taste of macaroni and cheese that the customer really didnât like. I end up throwing my fish out. So a waste of money đĄ wish I would have took...
Read moreHad a horrible experience at this location in Waukegan. I placed my order on the phone like I normally do and went to pick it up for a gathering. I got to the counter and gave my name. The guy at the register gave me my total and proceeded to maybe prepare my order. While he was doing that I was getting my money which included some change. I set it on the counter with the change on top. Thought I was doing something nice so the change didnât roll away. The worker got upset and insisted that I place the money exactly in his hand. I thought he was joking as Iâm a funny person. I told him no because I already had it there ready to go for him. Well he got so upset with a very angry look on his face to the point that he canceled my order. I know heâs from a different country and not sure if thatâs considered rude where heâs from or what his deal was but it was surely not good customer service. I was a regular and will never go there again. I went next door to Popeyes and place my order with...
