The Pink Cactus — Restaurant in Waukegan

Review from someone who attended their grand opening on November 15 at 11am: This was a horrible experience… to summarize it: we got there at 11am, placed our food order (the time they opened) and we left at almost 2pm without getting our food that we ordered… all I ordered was bread with avocado…. I obviously don’t know how a business works but this was so upsetting. My group and I expected a long wait time. But we had so many things go wrong… 1. Our silverware was not clean. 2. Our drink orders were wrong… 3. By the time we had were telling our server that we were gonna leave, we started getting random food… sure it was complimentary but by the 3rd hour- we were STARVING. They gave us food from other customers that walked out and didn’t get their food… so it was kinda cold… and we heard arguing from the kitchen when walking to the bathroom… and the girls bathroom broke down and had to use the men’s… no sign on the men’s door saying that we were going to be using their restroom… I just saw on Facebook that they were looking for a server 2 days before opening… I DONT BLAME OUR SERVER. I blame the people who opened this place. There should’ve been a month trial run before this place opened… it doesn’t feel like that happened. Felt very unprepared. Unorganized. Rushed to open. -But I’ll be coming back because hopefully they can see this review and know what they can...

food is incredible — the chilaquiles were packed with flavor and the wings were perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is amazing, making it the perfect spot for a girls’ brunch or even family dinners.
