Hinkston Park — Attraction in Waukegan

We have a family membership here. Its not too pricey but we do get taxed an extra $10 fee because we aren't residents of Waukegan. But the facilities are well worth the monthly fee (when we go lol). Since most things are closed or very limited for the summer I was extra excited when the Aquatic Center opened. They are equipped with 3 pools: a kiddy pool for the toddlers, a lap pool, and a therapy pool. The therapy is my jam. This is my main reason for the membership. The pool is around 91 degrees I believe. Just know, it's warmer than the lap pool. I water jog in the therapy pool 2 to 3 times a week when its adult swim only. I love that we adults get designated time to not have to worry about the kids jumping and splashing in the pool. Call ahead for specified therapy pool times. They also offer group and individual swimming lessons. My daughter took one group class and then 2 private lessons. She's more comfortable and knows the basis of swimming.

They also have an outdoor track area. And indoor track loop, exercise area, wall climbing and an open gym. Some parts are still closed such as the sauna and towel use and public library. Well it took some getting use to coming from another facility. There are various amenities available to assists in personal interests. Sauna, steam room, full lap and therapy pool. There are many 'regulars' which provide some sense of motivation to return. If you're serious about your well being then you must resrarch how all the amenities can help toward your fitness goals. This was one of the longest weekends I've had in a long time. This facility held one of the greatest basketball tournaments in the world. We started out on a low note but ended it on a very high one. Great place to play basketball it has 6 courts, great concession stand, and the vibe was off the charts.
