Gooey's Pizza Waycross GA — Restaurant in Waycross

If any of you have severe food allergies or intolerance, be very careful when eating out or ordering food. I ordered 3 small "gluten free" pizzas from Gooeys Pizza in Waycross the other evening. I called it in, ordered, the manager was the one who took my order and repeated my special order back to me. We had it delivered. When I opened the boxes the first thing I noticed is 1 of them had very a different crust from the others. It was a thick hand tossed, the other 2 were thin crust. The gluten free pizzas always come in thin crust and look identical to the regular thin crust, we know this because we have ordered from them many times. I called the restaurant, the manager admitted that the 1 hand tossed pizza was actually not gluten free. Ok, glad I checked, David decided to have that one. Another thing I noticed was there wasn't any labeling on the boxes as usual. They would usually put a sticker on boxes saying gluten free. Nothing. But, we ate the pizzas anyway. Bad mistake! About 30 minutes after eating I began to feel really bad. It progressed until my stomach started to hurt and I felt sick. All evening I felt sick and here I am 3 days later, haven't been able to work, have been in excruciating pain, severe flu like symptoms,; these are side affects of consuming gluten if a person is intolerant to it, which I am. This is so frustrating! I spoke with the owner of Gooeys the other day. He didn't act like he believed me but said he wpuld check into it. Last I heard from him. I just wanted him to know because some people go into anaphylactic shock from food allergies. Lesson learned, dont trust anyone with my health. Eat at home😣 I'm still in alot of pain, cant even touch my left side, but am starting to physically feel...

I guess it's bound to happen sooner or later. I've stated before that Gooey's is the best pizza around and it typically is. Not tonight. They seriously dropped the ball tonight. The crust was tough rubber and the spattering of toppings in the middle of the pizza might fill a one cup measuring cup. Maybe. And there was nothing "gooey" about the cheese! My previous review (I meant every word then. Sure can't give the same review tonight): Best pizza within miles. The crusts are perfect. This is the only pizza restaurant where I want to eat all the crust. Plenty of toppings. Fixed the way you want it. Assorted pasta dishes to choose from. Awesome, large wings. Various breadsticks with all sorts of toppings, including fantastic dessert breadsticks that are worth a special trip to sit and munch on as a delightful night out with friends or family. The only place nearby to get an authentic gyro. And this place really is Gooey because they do NOT scrimp...

This place was a gem. I was totally impressed with this place. The decor is very cute inside. They do have a drive up window. They have some unique pizza toppings. I got a gyro pizza. It was so good. I got a small personal size pizza. They have several different sizes. Personal, Small, Medium and Large.

What is on the Gyro pizza? Tzatziki sauce, black olives, tomatoes, Gyro meat, and feta cheese. I also added hot peppers.

We did also have the cheese bread and friend had a calzone. Cheese bread was better than Dominos. Friend said her Calzone was good, she said it had a lot of cheese in it.

They do also have hot subs, gyros, pasta, soup and salds with desserts.

This is definitely a place you need to try if you are in the Waycross area. I wish we had a pizza place this good in Folkston. Too many chicken places in...
