Extremely Disappointed – Would Not Return
We had a party of five tonight and chose to skip the continuous meat option, instead ordering the seafood tower appetizer, the tomahawk steak (which is supposed to feed 4+), lobster mashed potatoes, and crab cake asparagus. From start to finish, the experience was chaotic and frustrating.
First, they served sparkling water with no ice. When we asked for ice, they brought a pitcher… only to take it away five minutes later to use at another table. Totally unsanitary.
Then we were told our tomahawk steak had been accidentally served to another table and it would be another 10 minutes to prepare a new one. We said that was fine, but then realized we hadn’t even received our seafood tower yet—and they looked confused when we asked about it. We had to go over our whole order again.
The seafood tower was decent but inconsistent: served on ice, but the crab legs were waterlogged and the lobster was dry. They gave us only one small melted butter dish for five people, which was just annoying to pass around.
The steak, when it finally came, tasted good but would maybe feed three people. Definitely not the “4 or more” as advertised. The asparagus was dry and wilted, and the $18 lobster mashed potatoes were underwhelming. To make things worse, all the sides came out at different times.
But the worst part? The constant confusion. We were never able to relax. Servers kept bringing entrées we never ordered—multiple times. It became a running joke at the table. Then they brought us about 8 side dishes we never asked for and just left them there. When we said none of it was ours, they just shrugged and walked away. It felt like we were being punk’d.
At the end, someone came over to ask how everything was. When we explained the chaos, the only thing he responded to was the steak portion size, saying “people interpret it differently.” Then why write “4 or more” in the description?? He completely ignored all the other issues.
We managed to laugh it off as a family, but this was one of the most disorganized and baffling dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was okay, but the service was absolutely horrendous—especially considering the price point. I would never go back and would...
Read moreSo I've been coming to this Fogo since it opened and last night was just terrible and my dining partner and I probably won't be back. We asked if it was possible to be served Rodizio at the tables near the bar because the dining room is too packed and too cafeteria like. Very unpleasant. I understand the section isn't open but if we're asking to sit over there, it's probably for a reason. No biggie. We go sit in the dining room. The server literally did not speak English. It was very difficult to order drinks or food with her bc we had to keep repeating ourselves bc she couldn't understand. The quality of the food at the Market table has definitely declined. We didn't see our waitress again for almost an hour. The meats were fine. When we did finally get a hold of the waitress I simply asked her for a couple of lemons, as I wanted to squeeze them on my salad. Her response was "You want a seltzer water?" Like, no. Just some lemons. Which I had to repeat to her 3 times. Of course I never saw the lemons. I accidentally dropped my fork on the floor (totally my fault) so I simply asked for another one. After 5 minutes of sitting with my plate in front of me with no way to eat, she strolls by like I didn't ask her for an eating utensil. I was like "Umm...can I get that fork". Which she quickly got but like, I have to ask you for a fork twice? This is a restaurant, we're here to eat. She kept calling me "Lady" which I thought was inappropriate (and I'm not a Karen, I'm a 33 year old brown person). But it just wasn't appropriate. We asked for the check which took entirely too long. My dining partner and I have been coming there since a week after it opened but we were simply appalled by the service. Manager came around and asked how everything was. Dining partner who was totally cool about it asked why you can't sit in the bar area. Manager gave a pretty decent reason but it's still stupid. But the rules are the rules. Nidia, our very absent minded waitress then drops a QR code on the table and asked for a review. Sis you do not want me to do that! Overall we decided to give this place a break for now. Service has been on the decline for a while and this was the last...
Read moreI took my bf here for his birthday back in June 2024. This was our first time ever going to a Fogo in jersey. We went for dinner, the food was good but the manager was very rude I believe his name was Castro or something like that ! The server however had way better customer service skills than the manager! I ordered Salmon and my bf had the rodizio now I don’t eat read meat but when the chicken came I tasted it, I figured it’s no big deal I’m paying for it and my bf didn’t want it . So this manager comes to my table and start pointing his finger in my plate telling me that I’m not supposed to have said item on my plate ! Now one thing I hate is people playing with my food and surely do not put your nasty little hands in my plate so I said okay. So I didn’t eat anything else off of my boyfriend’s plate because this manager was literally the food police ! Now it’s comes time for the bill and containers. The server who was so kind gave me 2 containers. Manager comes out of nowhere to say “oh you can’t take certain menu items home” ! And he proceeds to try and take the plate out of my boyfriend’s hand! Which was extremely rude … instead of explaining to us that we couldn’t take Rodizio home he got smart and tried to take something from my bf ! Whoever this guy is it was a mistake making him your manager. He was even acting rude to our server which I didn’t like that’s why tipped the guy in cash ! Btw the entire time this manager was hovering over us to the point where we could barely enjoy our meal and experience, he gave better customer service to the people of his ethnicity ! Because there was a table of at least 12 people and they were definitely sharing the Rodizio with one another but he never said anything to them! All in all I felt uncomfortable the entire time, because this man kept watching my table and coming back to tell me unnecessary things as if I didn’t have a waiter that was very helpful! Who ever is in charge of the hiring process here you guys need to find better management ! I have told everyone I know about this and will never come here again, I’ll stick to the...
