To sound a bit cliche for a review, I really do not like writing bad reviews for any place even if the experience was less than desirable. But Blue Fig Garden truly and deeply disappointed me.
The positive: The food we ordered was great even after, when walking around the mall, we couldn't stop raving about it. My family and I had a good time with each other, the atmosphere is fantastic, the decor is very beautiful, the vibe inside and out is very chic, rich and almost homey.
The negative; When me and my family walked in we were greeted fine, but not at all ushered to a table, my sister had to ask where we could sit and we were told anywhere. Because the restaurant was empty at the time I didn't think too much of it. We chose a table, sat down, and ordered apps. It wasn't until our entrees did we notice something was off. I noticed half way through my meal that the man (I'm assuming the manager) who barely sat us at a table kept looking at our table... It felt as though he was breathing down our necks, then our waitress kept coming by more and more frequently which made me tense and a bit annoyed.
I realized that it felt as though we were being watched and rushed. I would understand if we had been sitting there for 2-3 hours, basically loitering but we were there for at least an hour enjoying our food and chatting. At the end of our visit at Blue Fig Garden my mother and sister went to the bathroom and we all noticed that the Manager watched them walk to the bathroom and walk out. I also noticed him watching me as I was paying the bill. When my mom and sister came out they stood in front of me as I gathered my belongings to head out and I see the Manager peeking his head around them to see what we were doing. This made me so unbelievably uncomfortable. I had to use the bathroom but I was so uncomfortable, I did not want to pass him to go, I just took the walk into the mall instead. This behavior was not shared among the other patrons in the hour we were there.
This experience was so sad and appalling. I know this is just a restaurant and "it's not that deep" but I was looking forward to enjoying Blue Fig Garden to it's full extent. I am embarrassed to have spent so much money here (the menu is not cheap at all) to feel as though we experienced racism or prejudice. An incredible...
Read moreIf i could give this place 10 stars I would! To start, the atmosphere and decor: phenomenal! So beautiful, so elegant and detailed. Very classy and impeccably clean, floor to ceiling! You literally wont find a crumb on floor nor table, not a spot on glassware nor utensils, and their restrooms are just as impeccable and clean. As for staff, ABSOLUTE 10 star treatment. I have not met nor interacted with a single staff member that was not courteous, kind, helpful and always smiling. Waiters are patient and interactive, always smiling and happy to serve you. Management is always present overseeing everything and making sure everyone is satisfied. For example, tonight I took my family to dinner for my fathers birthday. We were a table of 10, 4 of which were children- the youngest two ages 2 and 4. Our server Ali was not only SUPER SWEET AND KIND but also so patient with the little chaos our kids brought to the dinner. He was patient in taking our orders, and took the liberty of having the youngest kids meals out first as to not keep them waiting. Not a single order was wrong or misplaced. And he did it all with a genuine smile and kindness. Ali, if by chance you see this or it gets to you, sincerely THANK YOU. And finally- food: 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND. EVERY SINGLE ITEM on the menu is absolutely divine. The selection is large and there is quite literally something for everyone. Beyond the fact that everything is delicious- the presentation of each and every dish is mind blowing. From appetizers to main dishes- every single dish is served fresh and in a tasteful artistic manner that will surely feed the eye before the mouth. If you are looking for good food, beautiful atmosphere and sincere good service you HAVE to try this spot. You WILL come back again and you will be sure to bring all your...
Read moreJust went there with my family for dinner. We should have gotten the hint to leave right when we realized we were the only ones there on a Friday evening around 6:30PM. Our waiter was not familiar with the menu when asked questions and kept disregarding the fact my husband is severely allergic to tree nuts. My husband ordered lamb chops, cooked medium. My child ordered the kids cheeseburger. I ordered the beef kebabs, cooked medium. The service was very slow and we had to constantly ask for water refills while patiently waiting for our foods. For being the only customers in the restaurant, it was hard to find a worker. Cheeseburger was okay, not worth $16 from the kids menu. Lamb chops came out medium rare and very bland. Beef kebabs came out well done, about 6 pieces, very dry. They did not even give me a steak knife. The waiter suggested I just eat the well done kebabs while they cook another. I did not as it was burnt. The new portion of beef kebabs came out very rare and only three small pieces. I asked the waiter again if the chef can cook this more and my husband asked if the chef understands how to cook steak at their requested temperatures. The waiter said this is not the first time this happened as if the chef always makes this mistake. The beef kebabs came back medium rare, but ended up just eating it as I was so annoyed and starving. We were off course charged, which I assumed we would pay the whole thing, but they did not even say sorry about anything. You would think they would inform the manager of how upset we were. We didn’t argue, just paid. No wonder there is an automatic 20% gratuity added. Food, service, and atmosphere is just one star. Would be zero if I could. I was so excited to eat here, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND...
