Was approached rudely by the manager when on the sidewalk with a friend. Had words... I was not nice but I paid for the one beer ordered, tiped my waitress .. drank my beer and then I left willingly on my own bacause felt disrespected. Went to a bar a block away and was told I would not be served because the manager from the cantina called to make sure they knew not to serve me aswell, apparently the two bars are sister bars... Went back to confront said manager asking why interfere with the rest of my night when I left his bar peacefully. Had more words, then left so keep things from escalating. When up the road and seen police lurking around the block from the cantina area and next day my friend was approached by police man asking about a confrontation at said bar. Moral of the story is if you have words .. none violent confrontation or you stand up for yourself thier prideful manager will not only cut you off his bar and sister bar but will call police to keep you from having a good time anywhere. It was my birthday but he wanted to prove a point. Mission accomplished Mr manager I will not be back.. hope your pride is worth it.. I do not know how you last this long in the bar business with such thin skin. I'm not saying I was nice about he situation.. I match energy so when my friend and myself was disrespected I refused to let my opinion go I said. He did not like that so letting me go on my own way was not good enough.. he wanted to take any opritunity for me to have a good time that night away... In one word... Lame. Never been treated like this especially by a boy...
Read moreA close friend and I were out looking for a good little spot to eat lunch and we found Downtown Cantina thinking it was a sweet little cantina with unique tacos but little did we know it was not so sweet. It started out with our water glasses not being washed, tasting metallic and around like we're going to be spending the next day in the bathroom. We tried lemons, sugar, you name it, just to try to be able to drink the water. We ended up ordering tacos and quesadillas just for our waiter to constantly complain about having to wait on us outdoors. Once we started digging into our food, chips and salsa we realized we in fact should have left when we spotted the waters. It got to the point we couldn’t bare the waters anymore and asked the waitress about the dirty glasses and the putrid water to which her response consisted of “It’s the Weatherford water and the glasses are stained from tea”. Not once in my life have I seen plastic cups stained from a simple ice tea, and on top of that it was not stains. After getting our water taken away we ordered a Topochico which I believe that those saved our day and our stomachs. Later we asked for a couple of to-go boxes and our cheque. Once looking over our cheque we see that for just four tacos, a single quesadilla, chips and salsa and one Topochico cost over $60. Once looking further at the ticket we noticed that there was an 18% service fee. My question is what service would deserve 18%? Ours sure didn’t. All in all I would not recommend going and I know I will not returning...
Read moreVery 5 of 5. Food was amazing, service was perfect (even on a busy Fri night). Don't come here because I don't want to wait for a table.
Update: Probably our last time here, at least for a while. Service was awful. Ordered a starter and drinks. That was fine. Waited some time to order food. Tacos came out quickly. Server stopped by and asked if I wanted more water. I said yes and didn't catch her eye again for 15+ minutes. When she picked up our baskets, I told her that my wife didn't like one of her mostly uneaten tacos, she said "sometimes happens" instead of 'I'm sorry, I'll take it off your bill. What can I get you instead?' Next time she stopped by, she asked if we needed anything, I asked for the check. At least 10 minutes went by until she came again to ask if we needed anything. I said, "Still waiting for the check." She came back with their mobile system and it wasn't working. I didn't have my wallet and my wife said she had only a $50. She came back with change, a ten and two ones. I admire her confidence thinking she deserved an over 25% tip, but she got the...
