Just walked the paved park trail from the police department to Holland Lake Park. Noticed that next to the playground area where the relatively new playground equipment was built, there is a lot of standing water and mud from recent rainfall. Great mosquito breeding ground there in the shade! The “new” zip line is still not in working order after many, many weeks. The dog parks always has standing water even after minimal rain. The walking trail just west of the dog park always smells like a sewer. Several places along the walking trail have fairly deep sand washouts across the concrete path most noticeable near where a large pasture was cleared for new home construction. The water fountain at the railroad crossing designed for human and dog consumption has not worked for weeks and still does not work. Once you arrive at the Holland Lake Park end, you are struck with the view of an unbelievable amount of debris piled on top of a metal grate located at the edge of the lake. Read moreThis place was smaller than I anticipated but the pictures don't do it justice, there are amazing little spots to just enjoy nature and sit or even have a picnic, it's nice to see a park actually be taken care of. Definitely take a second to enjoy the wildlife here as on a date I saw ducks, turtles, and some smaller bird species while taking a leisurely stroll on the path. There were some amazing spots for pictures, we might come back to take a few more photos. I'd suggest going after a nice rain comes in so the waterfall looks at its best and you will probably see less people although it's never been crowded...
