Normally a decent place, the food is good. The area is small, a little tight at times and the wait staff is a little older. Today(10-14-2017 at 0900 hrs) my son and I went in for breakfast. As we sat and waited the room was full and the two waiteresses were fairly busy. My son and I order and the gable of three next to us order. Now as we waited for our food I notice two boys come in and sit at the counter and a couple comes in and sits at the table behind my son. Nothing out of the ordinary here, until I see the boys at the counter get their eggs and the gable next to us get there breakfast, two sets of scrambled eggs and some type of breakfast sandwich. The couple behind us gets their breakfast pancakes of some type and we are still waiting for scrambled eggs and a scrambled egg and sausage sandwich. I drank two cups of coffee and my done finished his oragnge juice before our breakfast finally arrived and I should add it was not correct to boot. The couple behind is finished their breakfast and was leaving by time we finally received the correct order. We simply asked for our order to go and paid the $14 or $15 Bill leaving just a $2 tip.
Now I have been to this place on numerous times in the past. Once again the place is small but the food is decant. I have seen a decline in customer service over the last year and after today we will most likely find a new place to have breakfast on the weekend. It is a shame that Friendly's the chain restaurant has better customer service. So East Main St. We will be finding...
Read moreAn excellent diner; I've been coming here for years. The food is outstanding, and the staff is excellent. As brunch continues to grow in popularity since the 1980s, the staff here works smoothly and efficiently despite the limited workspace they operate in.
I've had perhaps one or two instances where I needed the staff's attention, and after speaking to them with respect, they were understanding and resolved the situation. I once overheard a particularly disgruntled customer initiate an interaction by speaking to the staff in a belittling tone of voice, as they aggressively squinted at the menu and continuously threatened them with a bad Google review. However, the situation was handled appropriately by the talented staff without raising their voices or giving dirt looks.
Anthony Bourdain once said, 'The worst customer on earth is the customer who’s decided beforehand that they're already miserable and the only way they will feel better is if they bully and mistreat staff by leaving a negative review.'
I thoroughly enjoy coming here because it's not owned by a large corporation or venture capital. Therefore, when I read negative reviews or comments from ungrateful individuals, I hear someone who should seek therapy to address their childhood trauma, rather than directing their anger towards strangers. I'm grateful for the mental strength to recognize when to seek help, and I sincerely wish them the best in finding a positive solution to whatever they may be going through.
Keep up the great work, East Main...
Read moreMy daughters took me here for Mothers Day breakfast. Unfortunately it was not very good. A side of bacon cost $3.95 and I got 1 piece half cooked, burnt english muffin and side of homefries more like french fries. My daughter got veg omelet but veggies were underneath scrambled eggs. Couldn't understand how the bill was calculated it was all over the place. When asked how it was we said not very good, but no comp on $50 bill. Maybe someone was just having a bad day in the kitchen and it's not like that everyday. My daughters apologized to me cause it wasnt good, although it was nice to just be with them. First time going there probably the last. I normally dont like writing reviews. Sorry but I hope this will help with...
