Tony's Italian Cuisine — Restaurant in Wellsboro

My husband and I visited on a whim a few years ago while on an anniversary trip. Passing through whole traveling, i had to stop again. I wanted to grab food to bring home with me for everyone simce we talked abut how good it was before. I ordered a pizza and stromboli, and ordered ravioli to have there while I waited. Served with bread and salad. It was fantastic and very filling. Ive seen a few reviews mention pricing it is more than your chains, but it is also on par with pretty much every similar small business establishment, so it is priced fairly. For how filling it can be, its a good deal. Now the food I brought home...i buckler the pizza and stromboli in, and had a travel cooler for the tiramisu. The kids were thrilled that the tiramisu wasn't overwhelming. They felt it tasted like it should. Both the pizza and stromboli were fabulous even reheated. I love so much that neither were greasy, even with extra cheese, meats, etc. My favorite part, though? It is advertised as italian cuisine, ane it does not ruin it by overcompensation like a lot of other places do. The food we had last time and this time was thoroughly enjoyable. The service was great. Being from out of town, i liked watching the interactions between the restaurant and their regulars. The dining area was clean. I loved the photos! My Husband and I recently stayed in Wellsboro and decided to eat here as the reviews were very good. I assume the reviews were based on the pizza and sandwiches, but we ordered the pasta. I had the chicken Parmesan. The bread that came with the meal was amazing. It tasted homemade. The salad was OK. The chicken was decent, it was boneless and breaded. I would’ve preferred it to be a little bit crispier. The pasta was very well done, the problem was the sauce. It was the absolute worst sauce I have ever eaten in my life. It was thin and tasteless. Ragu is way better. My husband had the seafood Fra diavlo. His was much worse than mine not only was the sauce terrible on his, but his seafood was still cold. Our waitress was attentive and nice. When she asked how our food was I told her the truth about the sauce. I feel like that gives the owner an opportunity to improve upon things that are not so good. This place is cheap! Not worth the prices. I was so disappointed as I was wanting to like them. I work late, and it's one of the few places still open. First time I ordered their food was ok. I say cheap because all other restaurants I've been to around wellsboro have had higher quality ingredients. I came back recently and ordered the same dish as before except my portion was half as much. I said what happened? This isn't how much i got last time? It was like a childs portion.
