Arturo's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Weslaco

I really had high hopes, restaurant was recommended. First I have to say it is a beautiful restaurant!. Upscale but comfortable. Second as nice a person as our server seemed the overall service was poorly lacking. Went in at about 2:30, only 2 other tables that we could see being served. Lady waitress said to have a seat, ok great. No menus, young man took beverage order, no menus, brought teas no menus. Asked for menus, waited and waited and still no menus. Went myself in search of menus. Complementary Salsa and chips served was like blended can tomatoes, no other flavor. Tacos had no seasoning either. Rice was decent as well as the sauce on the enchilada, but ade with American cheese? Guacamole came with sliced hamburger Pickle chips on top. Just strange. Next try to pay and leave, not so easy either. Waited a long time, then our nice server finally brought us someone else's paid! Receipt. Had to go again and find him to let him know wrong table. We went about a year ago because our bad experience with our food. My husband order a fajita plate, when he got his plate the meet was tasteless and he had to put salt and pepper and lemon so that it could bring some kind a taste. No tortillas with his plate...seriously?? No pico de gallo or any kind of hot sauce. He asked for tortillas and they took more than 5 mins. for the waiter to take them to the table. I ordered a Chile relleno, it had a good presentation but once you tasted the meat there was no taste at all!! It tasted like it was frozen or simply it wasnt cooked with any kind of condiments. My daughter order some tacos with ground meet and it was the same tasteless meet that my Chile relleno had. Again good presentation but no flavor. And I order a cheeseburger for my son all I can say it was an average burger and it was the only plate that was "ok" we paid $70 for all that. Visiting the area and Googled Arturo’s Bar & Grill. Pretty good reviews! However, our experience was not all that good. First of all, it doesn’t have a “bar & grill” atmosphere! The decor is very clinical! Second, the food is different than a typical bar and grill. I feel like they’re trying to be fancier than a bar and grill implies!! Third, we both ordered a draft beer! My husband a Dos Equis and I, a Michelob Ultra. I was drinking it but kept noticing a foul smell with each sip so I had my husband smell it and he said don’t drink it! It was either the beer that smelled or a dirty glass! Ick! They did switch it out for me for a Dos Equis! The service was pretty good! But possibly a communication issue with our server. The meal my husband had was Chicken Mole. The menu states “Grilled chicken breast “ what came out on the plate was a cut up 1/4 chicken, skin, bones and all. Not what was expected.
